It's not got a battery it would just remove the tower of the PC and allow the user to play games. For reference the $3K Imac has no touchscreen nor does that optiplex AIO. It is not targeted at touchscreen people, just those who don't want a tower, but do want to play games.

It is just a 23" monitor with a laptop strapped to it. It in no way is comparable to an ipad. You cannot move it like a tablet, it has to be plugged in at all times etc. All it does is get rid of desk clutter. People pay good money for that.

Small desk spaces are the in thing. A lot of people don't want a big gaudy tower or a million wires running all over. This allows those people to play games.

Personally I think AIO's are pretty much the ultimate machines for the people still using desks. If you have everything wireless you only need a power chord and it takes up so much less space than a laptop. Laptops on desks are awful, especially if you have them connected to a docking station.

As I said, far from it. It they weren't cost prohibitive to me I'd definitely have an AIO. Most people I know would benefit from one actually.

EDIT: They're obviously not for people looking to get as much performance as possible for their moneys. It's not really fair comparing them to systems you can, if you're cheap, throw in a cardboard box.

The resolution is a bit low though. Should be 1440p.

Instead of talking bad about every product that doesn't meet your status quo allow a company that made more profit last month than you make in a year make their own decisions. im not saying that msi must not create this kind of products... im just saying that i see this as a worthless device... i prefer a laptop over this, the device will be more useful with an integrated battery so you wont have to power it to power for every use, because of mobility, is just my opinion,

This will sit on someones desk and be used as their PC. It will not be mobile it is NOT a tablet. This a desktop without a tower. I don't know why that is confusing to you.

It is a niche product (I mean gaming AIOS). More companies should make them, if you want an AIO with a good GPU you're essentially limited to MSI and Apple. They do cost more than they should.

I do not like AIOs because they are intended for one thing and one thing only and that is only desktop computing and they are as extensible as miniPCs, AIOs can just include more and better *fixed* components. That is why their use is very limited compared to laptops, so if you aren't sure about AIO buy a laptop.

I bought a miniPC and I am now thinking it would be better if I bought a netbook, because currently I could use it and it was never going to be a thing I would just set and forget about it. With laptop I would get UPS (battery), keyboard and a screen which could be used for a lot of things.
