The latest installment of the Anno series sends you to the moon to harvest precious minerals. We tested the game using 11 of the latest graphics cards, at four resolutions each, to determine what kind of hardware is required to play Anno 2205 at its highest settings.

It seems to just be the View Distance and Shader quality bringing it down, with AA off and those two on just High, I get a pretty liquid smooth 60~ except for every now and then 50s~. Game is absolutely gorgeous though, hopefully the memory leak bug is fixed, but it only seems to hit my PC around 4-5 hours of constant playing, but I do have 16GBs of ram. Highly recommended.

Great write-up. 4x AA is freaken insane on performance at any resolution.. seems this game is badly optimized for AA.

On Steam forums, AMD owners are reporting a big performance gain with Tessellation override at x8/16. You guys want to take a look?

There's a throw-down thread over at [H] about Anno 2205 and all this. It has DRM beyond Steam still, so no thanks.

On charts there is "R9 370". There is no such card. You meant R7 370 i recon.

I wonder how performance scales with lowering the settings or even turning off AA. Because ultra seems a bit crazy. What settings are recommended for ~30fps for R7 370/265/7870?

Benchmark Scores 3050 scores good 15-20% lower than average, despite ASUS's claims that it has uber cooling.
What makes this game worth a separate article, besides "great job crippling non-maxwell cards"? (970 beating 780Ti, 960 not only being faster than 380, but nearly twice as fast, "impressive")

You're right, I guess the developers went back and did the same thing on Anno 2070 as well? (That game predates Maxwell quite a bit, and shows the exact same thing with 900s series ahead) Almost like it just likes the architecture optimizations or something. A few games have shown this. Also AMD thing is nothing new, on quite a few titles unfortunately.
