HD7950 CF or Not for 2k resolution ?

Hello Friends ,

I want your suggestion on HD 7950 Crossfire setup . Currently i am using Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor X, thinking to buy another one and do CF.

Is CF HD7950 a good idea? Will i face any like drivers, micro-stuttering, lag etc ?

I assume you mean 1440p.

In my experience, crossfire is not ideal. You're at the mercy of game developer/AMD support, which can at times be lacking. A strong single GPU is more advisable. A GTX 970 is bang on for 1440p performance.

Yes i mean 2560X1440 .

I read on net that GTX 970 utilize only 3.5GB memory instead of 4 GB .

It's quite a bit cheaper to simply add a 7950. I have run a set for years now and drivers wise it is not awful, some stuff doesn't work game wise, but eventually it is fixed. Way cheaper solution than a 390x/970/980.

It'll work well for 1080p but I can't say the same for 1440p.

One guy selling his Sapphire HD7950 Vapor X boost edition (I also have same GPU ) in 8500 INR with 8months warranty .

As long as the game has drivers for CF and can utilize both cards well, you should see good performance and should run games well on 1440p.

Just something to think about - this isn't common for all games, but this is my experience running Shadow of Mordor at 2K resolution using DSR on my 980Ti. The game runs around 5.5-6GB for VRAM.

Clearly, not all games will eat up that much VRAM, but there are some out there that can and will make use of 3GB+ of it, especially when you're gaming at high resolutions.

@rahulyo Sell it,because soon or later u will need FreeSync or Gsync...also more pwm eff. and great features.
With money already thinking u have and money selling u'r 7950 buy a great GPU 970>390/X>980 for 1440p
