SSD will not reformat

It is the has the MBR attached to it and it will not allow a reformat. I have tried to clean the disk through dos and also tried to convert it to a GPT drive through windows and all options have failed. Any ideas

Use the MFG utility and run a secure sweep where it writes zeros to the whole drive.

Or Ccleaner will do it as long as its not the system disk.

Short of that you must use an administrative command prompt and force the deletion of the MBR

this is what is list as. I am not using it any longer as I have upgraded and it only shows in the manger area. IT is DISK 1

ughghggh that drive says its a system disk. does your machine start correctly with the disk removed?

it is important to know. From what it looks like the machine didnt isntall to the 500gb (disk 0) correctly. Windows is still operating on disk 1 (the one you want to delete)

you may need to format the machine with the drive removed.

the other drive (disk 0) also has your boot code.

Honestly this entire setup is fucked. you need to remove the drive you do not want to use and install windows on the drive you do want to use with the other drive disconnected.

After the format you can put the disk you want to wipe back in and format it.

It's an ssd?
Right here:
Whatever..Google "Parted Magic" download..burn to disk or usb if you're inclined..boot from..secure erase.
I have a good one..because the newer ones suck..
