Hi peeps

I am looking to get me a new PC and as a starting point I'd like to go for the i3-6100, 8GB 2400 DDR4, MSI Z170A PC MATE and a R9 380 4GB. I chose this setup as a starting point seeing that the i3 can be OCed and is prety decent for gaming. I wish to go for 4.2 as a starting point and see how high I can go (4.5 hopefully). Then maybe after a year add a second 380 4GB (this is just a plan, I have never CFXed or SLId in my life and I think I never will, but who knows). I could also get the GTX 960 4GB, but then I'd have to spend more on a mobo with SLI capabilities and although DX12 promises multi GPU configs even without SLI, CFX etc, the greediness of the big corporations don't really give me a good vibe for the future on this one. I remember the time when we had the possibility to use PhysX with NVIDIA and have a main AMD GPU and the time that this was blocked "thanks" to NVIDIA driver updates.

Now as the title says it I have 2 questions.

1) Will a 550-650 80+ Bronze handle two of these. My experience says that with this setup 600W 80+ should be more than enough, but I'd like to ask the ones who have actually tried this.

2) Is 380 4GB CFX worth it? I really don't want to spend even a cent more. I am a student and this will be just a PC that probably will not even be played on, but in case I want to play some game, I have the possibility.

Last question. :p
Will ZEN from AMD be worth the wait, or I should just go for this?

Any feedback is appreciated.

For that money u can pick a good CPU like i5 6400 or i5 6500 and with a Z170 chipset u can OC

Better take 380X-390,one GPU is always a good choice.

ATM I don't want to spend anymore than 650€.
This is what I have until now. I don't want to change any of the parts. They are the cheapest and best price to performance to personal preference ratio I could find.

Adding an i5 or going 390 would not suit my budget. Maybe I can squeeze in a little bit more for the 380X but that's it for now. The Crossfire option is only for the future, that's why I am asking the question in the first place.

I have read this too. I don't know how true this is though. I hope not. Anyway the 6100 is pretty fast even without OC.
It's just a starting point PC tho. I plan to upgrade in the future.
I'd get a i5 CPU then, it's more useful than the few extra shaders on a 380X compared to 380.

Crossfire, if working correctly, is worth it. Good example for crossfire scaling: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2016/02/15/rise_tomb_raider_video_card_performance_review/10#.VsPCZeY50Xw
Your performance would be about that of an HD 7990, I guess, maybe a bit more.

PSU I'd go with 650W minimum (for 380 CF), better 700 or 800 Watts (for 380X CF), if you want to crossfire, as these cards aren't really low on energy. ;)
