2nd line in the link you posted

The Pentium Dual Core E5400 is quite an overclocker I've found, taking it to 4.644GHz on air.
This guide will show you how to overclock it on my crappy cheap G41 motherboard. You will probably do better with an X38 or X48 mobo instead, But this was my budget build.
I will be overclocking on a Gigabyte GA-G41MT-D3.

Not neccesarily wrong.....:)

in my experience MSI are better overclocking boards, i would be interested to learn more from @TiaanMarco48 as to what problems he has had previously and if it was with this board.

Find yerself a Wolfdale (like the e8400), if your motherboard supports them. Should be quite cheap.

my first intel cpu after being amd was one of those.. i had one on pre-order.. i think it came clocked at 3 gig within a few days i was benching it at 4.5 gig.. those were the days.. he he

i still have it.. now retired but it still works.. even after the cooler fell off (plastic pins failed) and i rebooted at least ten times before taking the case side off.. i thought it had fried.. but no the bugger still worked.. he he

Or, since it's a G41 board, get a Xeon (tops 120W TDP, so the VRM will cope...barely) to try the 771-775 pin mod.
The E5xxx were dirt cheap a couple of years ago...
