32 inch really is the perfect screen size for 4k.

Hell of a lot more liveable with on a day to day basis than the usual 27 or 28 inch that seems to be the norm for 4K panel releases.

4K is not for me. Gaming on 4K is too demanding, while watching Full HD movies feel like viewing mobile phone clips.

I prefer 32 inch monitor with 1440p resolution, Gsync and 144hz at affordable price.

New monitors are started to hit the market. But i think they are overpriced. Only 2 brands announced 10bit monitors. Waiting for more! Also a review would be nice.

@silapakorn
If they put Gsync on those monitors the price surely hit over thousand.

Watching 1080p videos on a 4k screen looks like watching 360p on 1080p screens. Have to agree there as I used to be ok with 720p for TV and 1080p for movies but now I need high bitrate 1080p for everything or it's almost unbearable. Most of my content I wind up watching on my kid's TV in the living room.

This monitor would be great, if it wasn't so damn expensive.

Use a better renderer and player then. MPC-HC + madVR (optional: + Smooth Video Project) can give better experience than using common video player like VLC.

I use CCCP. You ever heard of stretching? No amount of codec will fix that.

Unless you need a monitor, I'd think it's smarter to wait for DP 1.3 products to hit the market with force. It would be a pity to waste money on something such as this when the new cards are also just around the corner.

You mean upscaling? Sure, I've heard of that. That's why I suggest give madVR a try. It has multiple upscaling algorithms to give better video output.

I'll try it when I get home, but I have a feeling I'll be out in the living room watching 1080p content on a 1080p TV still.

And the two of us still meant stretching.

Make sure you use a compatible video player as well. I know MPC-HC supports it but maybe other players that do too, as long as you can change the output renderer.

CCCP comes native with MPC-HC.

I agree,...

With my LG UHD 4K 55UB8500 Smart TV it can upscale 1080 video. I haven't seen anything on it that has actually looked bad with the exception of some overly compressed action scenes via cable. That is the cable companies fault though and switching TV's wouldn't help that.

I have some software packages that claim the same 4K video support and upscaling but I haven't tested them out yet.

My TV has upscaling as well, it sucks and isn't much better than simply full screening a movie which stretches the crap out of it.
