I have a problem with an X-Fi Platinum.
The card worked perfectly until the problem arose that does not work the audio from the rear outputs (the classic which you connect the speakers via 3.5 jack).
Apparently in windows everything works perfectly, regularly recognized, proper settings, the device manager without warning, the volume control works properly with green indicator in the presence of sounds, drivers uninstalled and reinstalled (both official and pax).
Mounted on pci slot, windows 8.1 x64.
The speakers work perfectly on the integrated sound card of the mainboard.
The bezel supplied with the card (I believe his name, X-Fi I / O Console) works correctly, as plugging in the headphones properly reproduce these sounds.
Do you know what this thing can arise and how to try to resolve it?

I had a similar problem with my x-fi platinum mounted on ASUS Rampage IV BE (used PCI-PCIx adapter).
I found that the output audio signal was very low, I used external amplifier between PC and speakers and it works.
Try if it's good enough for you.
Good luck! o_O

There is a setting in the Software where you can set it to disable speakers when headphones are plugged in and vice versa. You might want to check that setting? Only thing I can think of if you say the headphones function.

I am kinda out of ideas. I loved my X-Fi Fatality so much. So I would recommend Daniel_K's drivers they are pretty much flawless and issue free. I won't knock Pax for there work but they are about "changing things" and Daniel_K(who now works for them last I heard) just fixes any issues to give you a stable driver not a modified one

I had same issue with mine doing that as well at one point when installed windows 10. had to wait for proper drivers and software cause some software glitched that caused it.
