Whatever you do, don't get a Titan X as it's such poor value and only comes with the stock cooler.

You may be interested in this fantastic 980 Ti, just reviewed today. It's got a 9.8 rating, so you can be sure it's really fabulous.

I wouldn't bother with SLI though. Too many issues and this model especially will be fast enough for anything that you throw at it.

To put under water? Or air cooling? If you're leaving it on air, don't waste your money on a card built for LN2. Maxwell boosts higher, the cooler you keep it, so....all of those fancy little toys that make the HOF / Classy / KPE so great, won't even play into your overclock. And if they do, it'll be so tiny, it won't matter all that much anyway.

Always gives me a good laugh to see someone buy one of these super high end cards, and then leave the air cooler on them. /smh

First... what resolution are you gaming on? I am assuming 4K or multiple monitors to warrant such high end...

Always gives me a good laugh to see someone buy one of these super high end cards, and then leave the air cooler on them. /smh
+1... it amazes me that they buy the "LN2" cards for a premium and don't use half the features they paid for.... oh, and it is common thinking that they overclock higher...

EDIT: I knew this guy seemed familiar... duplicate threads - http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/new-gpu.220714/

@sneekypeet - I see you lurking, LOL! How about a merge?

Its a 2560x1600 monitor? Grab a single 980Ti. I suggest any that is does not have a reference cooler since you are not overclocking. There is literally ZERO reason for you to buy a HOF/Classy etc unless you like chucking money in the trash.

Giga 980Ti extreme is great. What I don't think W1z's review mentions, and not that it affects you, but it does to anyone that actually overclocks, is that their default BIOS is 300W at 100% power limit and 390W at 130% power limit. Plenty for overclocking WITHOUT modifying the BIOS. Or, the MSI 980 Ti Gaming are sweet as well. But I wouldnt spend more for those high end cards.

I posted that more for additional, random, information in the thread. That said, I wouldn't choose reference because of the loud ass cooler. The Giga 980Ti has a BEEFY overclock out of the box already, as well as a great cooler, same with the MSI Gaming. THAT was my underlying (and not mentioned, LOL) point.

EDIT: Crap, I forgot the word NOT in that post, as in NOT overclocking... the rest of that post would have made more sense if I typed it properly... haha!

As was said in your previous/duplicate thread and in this one Titan X is a waste.

Man, get yourself a G1, an SSC or an FTW or something.....it'll perform great, give you a good aftermarket cooler, and guys like me won't laugh at you for buying into a marketing gimmick to get the consumers to buy a bunch of crap they don't need, because it's "UBER"! lol

Just get one of those fantastic air cooled 980 Tis and forget about anything with watercooling, like the others have said.

To find a review on them, go to the TPU review section and put "980 ti" into the search box. All the best ones are on there. If you're anything like me, you'll go for one that's super quiet rather than overclocks like a banshee. Heck, sometimes you can have both. ;)

As was said in your previous/duplicate thread and in this one Titan X is a waste.

ive read some decent reviews on the Zotac xtreme gaming too, im not sure if they are the same options etc.. since the names are similar. but the cooler sure looks sweet ;)
im not sure i personally could ever justify spending that type of coin on a GPU. but to each Her/His own.

They are completely different things. Like a basketball and a volleyball. Sure they are both balls and round, but that is about the only similarities. They are different brands with different PCB/power setups and features. namesakes across different brands do not tie together similarities.

The problem with those cards is the premium you pay and not using its features... (Kingpin and Matrix). Those are hand made for LN2. I would rather spend $50 less and get 20 less Mhz personally since it really wont matter much FPS wise...up to the OP though if he wants to put out cash for such meager increases.

I do not recommend multiple GPUs for those that may be a bit 'green'. While chances are it works fine, in most cases it really isn't needed, particularly with a single 980ti and your res. That card will drive up to 2560x1600 with ease, so two, there is little point and could be more trouble than it is worth.

If you still plan on going SLI, I also would stay away from triple slot coolers like the HOF/Giga Extrme/Zotac, and look at the MSI I suggested as they are dual slot and will have more space between the cards for better airflow, cooler temps, and less (fan) noise. the Kinpin is too, but again, why pay a premium for features you are not going to use... its pointless.

Well, as far as coolers go I would not worry much between the air coolers as they all do a decent enough job with some doing slightly better but not enough to fret about. I would like others have said just get the highest overclocked ones you can and call it a day. Zotac 980ti Extreme, Asus STRIX OC, and Gigabyte GTX 980ti Extreme are some of the best and highest clocked out of the box cards (Excluding special OC editions with like LN2 and stuff).
