ASUS today announced support for the upcoming Intel Core i7 X-Series processors and Intel Xeon processors, with UEFI BIOS updates available immediately for ASUS X99 Signature, TUF, and ROG Series motherboards.

Easy BIOS updates with ASUS USB BIOS Flashback and EZ Flash 2
ASUS X99 Series motherboards include the renowned ASUS USB BIOS Flashback feature, which enables users to apply UEFI BIOS updates with ease. This tool downloads the latest BIOS to a USB flash drive, enabling users to update the ASUS UEFI BIOS quickly and easily. The motherboard does not even need to have a CPU or DRAM modules in place; simply connect the power supply, plug in a FAT32 formatted USB drive, press the USB BIOS Flashback or ROG Connect button and then sit back and wait until the flash process is complete.

Alternatively, users can apply the necessary UEFI BIOS update with the easy-to-use EZ Flash 2 utility - which is built into the UEFI BIOS - using a USB flash disk.

Users keen to take advantage of the power of Intel Core i7 X-Series processors and Intel Xeon processors can visit the ASUS website (http://www.asus.com) and download the relevant UEFI BIOS version today.

Just a warning, don't freak out when system reboots like 3 or 4 times after the BIOS update. Don't try to force shut it down or cut power! It's normal this way, of course ASUS didn't bother to place that as a warning on the webpage.

I updated the BIOS on my X99-Pro yesterday and it went without a hitch.

This is usual when the Intel Firmware as well as the Bios gets updated, i have seen this on my current Z170 and on Z68 boards back when it was updated for Ivybridge.

They really should warn about this though, i remember a lot of people bricking boards or at least needing to replace the Bios chip back when that Ivy update happened.

Let me update my X99-A 3.1 right away but I am excited to see weather Broadwell-E will bring any significant improvement over current 5930K.

* Version 3005 lets fix old bugs and introduce new ones ?

Just finished updating the BIOS to v 3005 on Asus X99-A/USB 3.1 and now I have lost manual control of my fan 2 and 4 in my case. With old 2101 I was able to control the fan speed manually. I am in the processing of testing out rest of the connectors !!!

CPU and CPU OPT fan seems to be working fine with this bios.

I have lost manual control of my fan 2 and 4 in my case.

Did the BIOS freeze up when you tried to adjust the curve manually?
I had that same problem with one case fan connector on my board.

I had that same problem with one case fan connector on my board.

No crashes thus far at any point but when I input fan % (for fan 2,3,4) values manually it does not seem to response any longer. *still testing it out.

for those about to complain.. (Axel Rose sux, LOL) about the fans, just run the fan autotuner in BIOS, and start from there.

Here I have my fans in Halt mode perfectly fine after the bios update.

Seems like problem is isolated to Advance Mode only. When I adjust the Fan curser in Easy Mode, it works like charm. I do tend to avoid easy mode and go directly to Advance Mode.
