I feel like I could do it if I absolutely had to. Though it would be unimaginably difficult I'm sure. Other than that I just feel immensely sorry for the poor bastards. They have to deal with dicks like me all day. And can't possibly have a real life to speak of. How miserable of an existence that would be? They should make convicts repay their debt to society by making them mods for suitable periods of time, depending on the severity of their crimes.

It's a dirty job...but I guess someone's gotta do it.

That's my more reasonable side talking. That ultra tiny piece of my soul that still clings to hope for humanity. The other 99.9999% says fuck you you fucking fuck. Rules are for the weak!! ANARCHY OR DIE!!!

heres an example post for you. you said bad words. I feel they are non-offensive because they are clearly not targeted at anyone - but someone else could call someone those same words, and quote you as a source 'why can he say it, if i cant?' (insert more swearing for added flavour)

I admin'd several of my own software sites over the years. Once I even had a member base that I could call "medium-sized"

I killed it all. Why? I'm a nice guy, and I don't like banning people, even troublemakers. This lead to a lot of troublemakers and a toxic community that was best flushed right down the toilet. And so it was.

I can't even imagine doing that on sites like that as its even challenging on small gaming websites/forums. I have been staff on some small gaming forums over the years (nothing big mind you, biggest was probably legendarycraft when I used to play minecraft) and frankly its never cut and dry or easy to make decisions no matter how obvious it can be. Its never just an obvious "This person is wrong, ban them/warn them" as there is always repercussions for everything you do. I can't tell you how many times I thought it was quite obvious and I got a lot of backlash for making a decision to ban or even warn someone on the forums. My perspective is always different from everyone else's and even if its my own rules there are always problems with what you do.

Would I want to, yes I would as it can be fun and I do enjoy it (I technically am one currently, though forum moderation is not something I do on it).

As a former long time member of guru3d. That place went to shit real slow.

I got banned for a member editing and repasting my posts to make it look like I was stirring shit up and getting into arguments with people. I think i had 8 or 9k posts there, possibly even 10k. I forgot what my username there is now, its been so long. I think there are only a handful of members there left from the time that i was most active there. I got issued a temp ban. Then i came back and made a post about the reason i was banned and the fact that i was leaving and my account got perma banned by Hilbert himself a few days after I had left as he didnt want me to come back and 'start shit' again. I had to contact him via email for locking my account as no mod/supermod there had power to override the account lock that Hilbert had put in place.

Ive been there for at least 5-6years, contributed to hundreds if not thousands of threads during the big boom of skt 939 overclocking and big boss man thinks im the kind of guy that would intentionally start trouble despite having no prior infractions or bans since the incident.

New people with shit for brains & trolls just dragged the forums down to a new level and hence all the long term people were leaving..... I think there have been a few former guru3d members crop up on TPU time to time.
