Oh I hear you there. Is it a difficult thing to swap them out? My only qualm with my amazing Das keybosrd is the 3 blue leds for the lock keys but I hadn't thought of changing them out.

Not at all, just fiddly,

I use one of these but not really needed it just keeps a nice space to use tweezers and a wide flat soldering tip speeds things up a lot, can use pliers to just have to realize how much pressure your using.

I prefer them more... more vintage... they are around 600nM both. Orange more red, and amber more yellow. The wave lenght actually is rarely mentioned.

Also... what voltage are the original ones? You will have to check that. There are actualy 2.1V and 3.3V ultra brights.

If you email Cherry they must just be able to advise you where you can get those LEDs.

Still trying to find out, ROCCAT not being helpful at all. Still have no multi either so i was going have a check on what diode and resister was used today and start taking the most part of the leds out.

If you email Cherry they must just be able to advise you where you can get those LEDs.

Still trying to get some thing helpful from them too but i keep getting told that information is not available or even restricted and ROCCAT not helping which i will try again just for the sake of trying.

But i am thinking they changed the specs over time has they had that led issue like a few other did were they were failing.

So even if ROCCAT replied would it be the correct info, so as i said above i was going to try take some pics close as possible of the diode and resistor and see if i can work some thing from that.

Got some old razer BW leds i was thinking of trying too just to see if they burn out, and if not ask razer see if they can put some light (HA) on what they used for the 2010 BW.

Maybe i should just wait a few months see if i can get enough funds together for a multi lol.

You could measure the voltage drop over the LED, and since you seem to be handy with a soldering iron you could try to get a mA reading as well with a multi meter.

Order something like this, for basic home needs it works really well... pull out the old diode and it will show the current and voltage rating. There are many of them, but basically they all have the same firmware on the 328th ATmega and are CHEAP.

Well could you not just test the voltage though were the led is connected with a multi to see the voltage ?, i need a new multi still and this cost about that price.

EDIT:
All but 1 leds are out now left one in so i know which way they go back hehe, the resister's on this keyboard are the small block type not the color band ones which are much easier to change.

That's why you have to pick up one with the same specs more or less 20% close to it. The LED has a voltage range where it works it is a zener diode, you need usually a bench supply to measure everything, or a POT with a stable 5V supply(wire on a breadboard). Adjust the pot so the led shines like you like (don't overdo it) measure the voltage across the POT or led to be sure it ain't too much... then you have your values...

The upper device just gives the specs already... it is really handy when some SMD transistors are gone... the AUTO pin recognition rocks and you can guess a replacement fast...

Well that site i posted and looking at the reviews there is a few people who have used these leds for the MK Pro so going get them as i am bored out my mind lol.

I might have a pot from a old joystick although they are much smaller than they used to be but it uses a USB connection so maybe they be 5v :), all so been able to get my hands on a multi just gotta wait till the 28th. although only a cheap craftmaster one but should help all the same.

Thanks for your time and info.

Easy way to check the multimeter would be to measure the 5V from your PSU, since it is within spec.

@AsRock Ok, I hope you can get something that fits. I think orange is a fantastic colour, too.

Order something like this, for basic home needs it works really well... pull out the old diode and it will show the current and voltage rating. There are many of them, but basically they all have the same firmware on the 328th ATmega and are CHEAP.

Well should be picking this one up in a few days hopefully, reviews i have seen of it seem very good for the price, yeah i know the one you posted has has plugs already on it but from what i can tell better to remove the part 1st anyways in most cases. thought it was nice to have that casing around it too.

that casing around it too.

yeah looks okay...

here is mine... with an orange led measured ;), and a reminder... always unhook the battery after using it, it will suck it dry as the board still consumes.
