specs as shown, unplugged my speakers as they were kaput and suddenly im getting no signal when using my gtx 260 , so i swapped it out for an old geforce 2 mx 32mb PCI which works , so back the to 260gtx and no joy ,so i borrowed a gtx 750ti and same thing with that.
monitor just says no signal when using either pci-e card , but everything runs normally with a gf2 mx , any ideas ?

maybe pci-e slot has died ?

im at a loss tbh , any help appreciated.

yes i know its an old system built in 2007, but i no longer game on it so dont really need to upgrade it, would rather just fix it if possible , or if i really have to buy a cheap ish pc.

i wonder what iteration of PCIe that motherboard supports...and weather or not it does it by default, possibly check in the bios if it got switched to default settings of Lesser PCIe support.

since supporting an older card, but not a newer one Would indicate something along those lines.possibly

speakers were acting up ,ie no sound and then turning up to max on there own , they are usb and do not need a sound card , so i shut down the pc then disconnected them , upon turning pc back on i had the problem above,

its not fun using a geforce 2 mx on win 7 , as is no supported drivers lol , so am stuck in 1024.

Your Motherboard supports 2 x PCIe x16 (blue @ x16 mode, black @ x4 or x1 mode)
test your card in one of the other PCIx slots

I feel your pain... been there. The speakers are alright with the geforce? During times like these I recommend to take out the board and try to run it on the desk... a bit bending could reveal some cold joints in the bridge.

Try re connecting the speakers and the video card?
Try a full CMOS clear.

im baffled, i may b wrong but if was a motherboard issue, wouldnt it fail or give warning beeps on boot or something, didnt think just the pci-e slot/s could fail leaving working pci slots intact, seems very weird to me lol

dont think the speakers had anything to do with it tbh ,i simply took them off , going to try my monitor with someone elses pc tommorow just in case its a monitor prob(ie dvi problem)

other than that ive no idea wat else to do.

There are often half dead too... No the speakers... I suppose your USB went cockoo because some IRQ calls started to go bonkers (call it death screams) from the north bridge. The PCI is wired from south bridge and may be alive there for.

Intel P35 chipset only supports PCIx 1.1 your graphics cards should be backwards compatable and should work you may have problems with the m/b itself

Possibly motherboard issue then.. In which case it looks like a new pc as upgrading this would probably cost a similar amount. Ie board.cpu.ram.gfx etc.

I'll keep trying tho, pulled the battery on the board and retried connecting speakers and no luck.

Also tried having bother cards in at same time and looks like it was defaulting to pcie as was no signal again
