I was not going to post this because it is purely speculation (it will be argued) and guess work and because of the hate it could stir up. But, in the end I though, it is really fun to watch and absolutely hats off to the guy (AdoredTV) for the time and effort put in to making these video's. Hopefully this post will get him some more views and help his channel.

Looking forward to reading what you guys think of the master plan.

Saw them about a week ago, he might have a point, but for now the games that support DX12 are few and i have no interest in any of them. The first big title will be Deus Ex Mankind Divided and it better support multiGPU not like Forza 6.

AMD has been making the right moves in a difficult market the past few years, and it is slowly but surely starting to come to fruition.

They are positioning themselves to take some market share in the near future. This is good.

But in the end the real problem with AMD is not market share. It is profit. For now all they have really succeeded in is creating and ensuring revenue.

AMD controls the console market and DirectX12 so most if not all games that will come out in the future will be optimized for AMD cards/architecture and nVidia will slowly die.

all so
As i understand it they going use smaller gpu dies which will all so force developers to do the work for multi gpu's as this is going be implemented on the console level. By using smaller dies they should get a much better percentage from each wafer. Part of the trick though the GPU's which are said to be put on a imposer like with HBM and wil be seen as one gpu for developers can work with.

On what planet?
He asked for a short version of those two videos. That`s the bottom line in DX12 AMD rullz for the moment and if you factor what the author of the video predicts, well... on this planet :)
Also Freesync monitors are way cheaper than similar Gsync models, in my country at least 100 euros. I`m talking about 1080p TN 144Hz monitors.

Yeah it took me a week to work up the courage to post them lol

These videos may be different for you, I found the way he put them together to be epic, like watching a movie.

Benchmark Scores 3050 scores good 15-20% lower than average, despite ASUS's claims that it has uber cooling.
Dude has a point, but conclusions are wrong nevertheless.
nVzilla has "fuckThingsWorks", doing wornderful things to competitor (and, when needed, previous gen cards of nZilla itself) which have greater impact than AMDs console dominance gives.
nVzilla has enough money to bother having full time forum trolls (chizow is the most notable, but hardly alone) that keep creating myths. (one of the recent: "G-Sync is better than FreeSync, that's why nZilla doesn't support it).
nZilla has momentum, thanks to great success of 970/980(Ti).
Short term, 1080/1070 look very strong, while AMD likely has only much smaller chips available and Radeon Group kept hinting at "multi-gpu". Well, cool bro, but nZilla (thanks to sucky SLI, but also objectively problematic) trained many users to avoid mulit-gpu configs, so "dual chip vs monster chip" won't work for at least quite a while. (until most games are multi-gpu capable)

And long term... AMD is... starving. Company that makes both CPUs and GPUs has smaller R&D budget, than nZilla alone, yet, keeps loosing money for how many quarters in a row? So that bright future might never come.

PS
E-leven!

Just curious is nVzilla the same as nZilla? If so, what is it? I've never heard this term used before. I gather you are referring to nVidia, but why the use of the other words? I may use that term in the future, but in doing so I need the full story behind it.. If your keyboard is malfunctioning then disregard my previous statement.

EDIT: Don't ask me how I deleted it.. lol

What I'd like to know is when this master plan will come to fruition...as time passes AMD may lose more market share and then what...Vega? Nvidia wouldn't fold their hands and wait to be beaten. The 1070 targets mainstream just as the R9 480 but if the claimed performance of the 1070 is at Titan X level and 480 at 390 X level, AMD is screwed and may have to lower prices to compete..that's not how to stay profitable unless they are saving more money by using smaller dies.

I really hope AMD have got some aces up their sleeves.

The master plan can it happen yes, will it happen, maybe not in my lifetime.

I guess shit just goes over your head some times, but anyways i am sure nVidia have their own plans too and i guess we better hope that it works out for both sides in the end.

Seems like they are on the right track but that's if they can pull it of longer enough to finish the plan.

Maybe government should help them and tell apple to go away they had enough help.

what the guy forgot to mention in the vids is that the road is full of holes, can they dodge them?

His first CPU was a K SEX?! He lost his virginity to AMD!

Love how he spends all that time building up AMD, then at the end, signs off with, "...but if any company can screw all this up, it's AMD".

The revelations for me were that larger chips yield higher defect rate, and that FinFet 14nm is really 20nm, but it still comes down to comparing performance and price after they're produced, as always.

AMD Propoganda I'm guessing? They'll need it considering they are basically a caveman huddled in a cave eating rocks from a financial point of view, while nvidia is Hercules looting AMDs countryside and despoiling what's left of it's womenfolk.

Honestly. I don't want it to be true, but financially, it is.

lets face it, buy 2019 console could be using nVidia hardware ( or soon after ) which would truly fuck over AMD.

Unlikely, if you watched the videos you should know by now they will most likely stick to AMD APUs because Nvidia can't do x86/APUs and also simply doesn't want to do console hardware anymore. Also the new Nintendo console will ship with a AMD APU. Same story.

This thread isn't about AMD vs Nvidia, it's just about AMD, let's not start a AMD vs NV war here.

This thread isn't about AMD vs Nvidia, it's just about AMD, let's not start a AMD vs NV war here.

I'm sorry, but how does "The Master Plan" to defeat NVIDIA, not involve NVIDIA?

This was doomed from the getgo.

Also, x86 isn't and actually until recently wasn't the only game in town for consoles.

x86 got interesting for consoles, after the companys (Sony & MS) realized that other CPU's are too expensive (just compare starting prices of XB360/PS3 vs XBOne/PS4), and they will most likely stick to that, which automatically rules out Nvidia. Also Nvidia didn't want to do consoles anymore because they thought it doesn't really pay off (which is absolutely true btw). The reason why it COULD pay off for AMD is just, that they gain the upper hand on graphics hardware meaning better optimizations on their stuff, meaning, Nvidia loses the performance war. But yeah that's a long shot, nobody denies that. Everything in these videos is rather theoretic, but interesting nonetheless and I wouldn't call it "unlikely", it has a pretty good chance to happen, with the Zen part being way more likely than Nvidia losing to AMD.

I sure nvidia thought it would not be worth while, although if they did take the consoles on it would of crippled amd more than they are already.

I have not checked the time line but it might be why nvidia started game works to counter amd console control.
