PSU giant SeaSonic unveiled its new flagship PSU line, the Prime Titanium. The company showed off an 850W model from the series at the 2016 Computex show. As its name suggests, the PSU boasts of 80 Plus Titanium efficiency. The PSU offers some of the tightest ripple suppression, at under 20 mV. Its hold-up time is 30 ms, allowing for better protection against erratic AC power (eg: during storms). The Hybrid Fan Control spins up the 140 mm fan only beyond an ideal load/temperature threshold, making the PSU quiet during productivity usage. The unit offers fully modular cabling, with enough cabling for a machine with up to three graphics cards, and a motherboard with two 8-pin EPS inputs.

I noticed it on Enermax and Corsairs high end units. Some green features (that I dont care about), for me its about the power usage monitoring, like to keep tabs on that instead of relying on an external unit.

I have the AXI1500 and the corsair software is utterly garbage. (a bit better now)

The crazy thing is that this PSU could power 3 GTX 1080s, or 4 RX 480s, without breaking a sweat. I'm loving the ever-increasing push for efficiency in the computing sector, it will hopefully mean the end of ridiculous 1kW+ units in the mainstream.

Flagship ones should support some kinda digital monitoring features :/

Seasonic, unlike Corsair, has better things to do than cramming useless gimmicks into their products so that they can artificially inflate the price. Seasonic would rather spend that time and effort on making some of the best PSUs in the business, and thank God for that.

High-end Delta (gotta defend mah parts eh)

Isn't that an anachronism? I've never come across a Delta that could be called anything but high-end.

And the price? Seasonic introduced a lot of new psus in computex, see tomshardware. Cheaper Focus model with gold certification and new platinum Air Touch models with obviously same platform as these titanium series.

Edit. oh and Prime has titanium, platinum and gold certificated psus:
  • PRIME Titanium: 850W, 750W, 650W, 600W (Fanless)
  • PRIME Platinum: 1200W, 1000W, 850W
  • PRIME Gold: 1200W, 1000W, 850W
Edit2. god there's platinum on Focus series too:
  • Focus Gold fully/semi/non-modular: 750W, 650W, 550W, 450W
  • Focus Platinum fully/semi: 750W, 650W, 550W, 450W

PSUs i would make love to:
Seasonic
High-end Delta (gotta defend mah parts eh)

I would have to urge you not to, can leave you pretty thoughtless for a moment or even dead HAHA.

I still remember when i was fixing a HiFi cassette player and the plug wires come in on those unit behind the mechanical part on a single deck, anyways adjusting one and hitting the power input left me thoughtless for a good few moments lol.

Monitoring software is pointless. I just want PSU that is reliable enough so you don't have to monitor it. I'd even prefer an automated fail safe protection which would shut off PSU if anything goes wrong without th need to use some rubbish software.

Meh... kind of past that monitoring anything I can phase.

Grab a Corsair if you are into those bells and whistles. :)

Sorry, I have to say that BeQuiet!-PSUs are the best. ;)
Sees German name... understands the post..........

They have some great ones.. and some mediocre models. I would not call that 'brand' the best. No way.

Seasonic... you can, more or less, pick ANY out of their line and its a Tier 1 PSU. You cannot say that for any other brand (Zippy perhaps?).

The only problem with Seasonic PSUs - from the company's perspective - is that once you buy one of their units, you really don't ever need to replace it unless you desperately need more power.

I don't really see myself ever replacing my Seasonic X1050 Gold unit.

It will die eventually. Every caps die, good caps last longer but they have life time too. Well of course if you have good enough soldering skills, you can always recap whole thing and make it last longer. And some other parts can fail too.

I just pushed my SeaSonic 660W Platinum over the max. Over 700W with an i7 975 and 2 380X, No issues at all. Even the fan stayed relatively quiet set to Hybrid mode. I don't think I'm moving away from SeaSonic anytime soon. They're really doing a great job and making great progress too!

That's a new word for me. Explain please, because the definition is only confusing me further.
I believe he means redundant. Anachronism doesn't apply at all.

I prefer Seasonic's take on monitoring- we'll just spend the money on making the PSU reliable enough that there isn't much point in monitoring it :D
