Opinions on Classified K?

I am receiving a Classified K board from eVGA as a RMA replacement for my old X58 mobo.

Anyone here have one, and what do think of it?

I do. I am overall very pleased with it and my only complaint really is with their capacitor selection. They use Apaq solid caps, which are still solid caps and thus pretty good, but the worst solid caps around IMO. They are still likely going to outlast the board.

The board itself and it's bios, features, oc'ing etc are a thing of beauty.

I receive my new Classified K Monday. I have my new CPU (6700K), new RAM (G.Skill F4-3600C16D-8GTZ), and the adapter kit to change my waterblock to socket 1151 from socket 1366.

I will post my overclocking results.

Anyway, today I just spent six hours doing a complete tear-down and cleaning of my rig; removed everything from the chassis, wiped every blade of all six chassis fans and cleaned the screens on the the three intake fans, plus cleaned the three fans on the radiator, flushed the radiator and reservoir, dis-assembled the waterblock and have it soaking in lemon juice overnight, blew all the dust out of the PSU, wiped down the chassis inside and out, did some fine tuning on the cable management, added a silicon anti-vibration pad to each of the bottom intake fans (they have always been noisy).

It was, especially cleaning the fans. Nine fans with 15 blades each, using an old toothbrush and a damp cloth.

I just hope I got a good chip, not a lot of info on Batch numbers beginning with 'X'.

My target is 4.8+.

I got it to 4.7 @ 1.35V, but temps are way too high in stress testing; mid-80°s in IBT, upper 70°s in Realbench and x264.

I probably need to delid and re-do the TIM.

I don't feel that mid-80's in IBT is all that bad, my 4790K runs about the same temps at 4.7 @ 1.35v. IBT will stress your system a lot more than any game or program, so your actual temps in daily use will peak at high-50's - mid-70's. In fact, I can't even use IBT on Haswell, it produces crazy temps and throttling. Now I use AIDA64 stress test, and while it also stresses the system more than any program, it feels like a more realistic test of all system resources. But by all means, delid it and let us know how it works out - I've seen claims of a 21c drop after delidding on Skylake (4.7 @ 87c down to 4.7 @ 66c, but with over 1.4 vcore).

After a month, I need to get rid of this board.

Why? Monitoring. Or rather, the lack of capability to do so accurately.

The developers of both AIDA64 and HWinfo tried to help me, but eVGA refuses to provide information that would make it possible to effectively monitor certain sensors on the motherboard.

AsRock or MSI, what do you think?

I vote for Asrock. I've had no luck with MSI boards, and had the same problem with temp sensors (no documentation).

Good info about MSI.

The AsRock OC Formula was my first choice, Gaming i7 second.
