Ouch. Either that PSU is REALLY weak and can't even drive a 760, or we got something else going on here... unfortunately, I can't say exactly what.

Let's hope it's just a really overrated PSU spec sheet?
The thing about that is that seems extremely unlikely. And it was working absolutely fine before I went overseas in April. The only thing that has changed between now and then is the drivers... Which are by Nvidia... who have had a dodgy year. I have an older install of windows on my HDD I disabled it as a bootable drive a while back (because choosing between the SSD and HDD was wasting time on an otherwise zippy boot up. Is there anyway that I can enable it once more and attempt to boot from there (older drivers that were confirmed to be working)? Because I am starting to feel like replacing the PSU would give me peace of mind but do little to fix my problem.

Id suggest replacing that psu before you regret it, that psu you have is a cheapy. Go for Seasonic, XFX, Enermax, Antec, Corsair, Evga, Rosewill. Do the research. A code41 means you had a power problem. Dirty power comes from cheap psus such as yours. If you are in doubt about the nv card, use DDU, follow the directions to remove the drivers in that program, then put fresh whql drivers in designed for your gpu. On another note, ensure your fans and case are pretty clean of dust. If necessary check all power connections, reseat the memory, gpu,etc Run Memtest aswell.

Good Advice to anyone who uses these forums.

Gpz-z what is the readout. With the render test going?. (Lanes of pci-e usage)

You can get driver for the OBG at intel.. (They even have a driver app, that downloads the right one)

In system properties does it list the OBG graphics as hd 4600? (i7-4700)
(btw, do you have an i7-4700 or a i7-4790k intel does not make a 4700k. )

Try a clean install of the OS. (Try linux, for testing purposes... Does the same thing happen under linux...)

are you using win8 or win10 (no offense intended, but is the OS Genuine ?)

I read quite a few of these threads before posting here. The reason I am resistant to changing the PSU is because after I order a new one it will take at least a week to get here. For the record I have ordered one now (didn't want to during the weekend cos the place that might have supplied it faster didn't necessarily have any in stock in this country and they didn't respond to queries until this morning). I ran the memtests already too.

4770k and it lists the OBG as Asrock integrated or something similar but that was looking at it on speccy I've switched it off now and was about to put my graphics card back in to attempt to use DDU and failing that I was going to perform a clean install of windows.

OS is Win7 SP1 genuine (I stopped pirating software after I hit 21 or something).
I'll consider linux after DDU fails to yield the desired results. What distro shall I use and where can I get it?

I didn't do a gpu-z log because (correct me if I'm wrong) it reports the same info as hwinfo64 but exclusively reports on the GPU. I didn't use it because the logs come out the same every time: clock speeds jump up then the log stops because the machine restarts before anything interesting happens. However here are the GPU-Z logs I did make anyway:

PSU's are powered by *chemical* capacitors - they can degrade, leak, and change behaviour over time.

Sounds to me like the cheap PSU is dying, and now it cant handle the power load of a gaming GPU.

Yeah I was thinking that that was the takeaway. The only thing that made me doubt that is that I couldn't trigger a restart with prime95 taxing the CPU. But unless my fellow Lagosian, purplekaycee, fancies letting me test his PSU in my rig I'll have to wait until my new PSU arrives to confirm it (living in Nigeria is suffering).

modern CPU's draw around 1/2 to 1/3 that of a modern GPU - and anything 3D will require CPU power as well as GPU.

A clean install of win7 is best. (Linux has slight problems with really new graphics cards IMO)

I was looking for a screen shot of gpu-z.

Does gpu-z recognize the OBG as hd4600. If it does not, try a clean install and check again. because it should state hd4600, if it does not there is a Problem with the MB.

Use ubuntu 16.04lts , easiest to get going (IMO alot like win 10)
I suggested linux, as a test. (With OBG, check to see if the MB is ok)

Oh I get what you mean now. I already put the graphics card back in (and turned it back on). I guess what I will do is attempt a DDU and reinstall then if that doesn't work I will take it out and then see about the OBG

Okay what should I do now. I have attempted to use DDU to clean old driver installs and that was a great failure. The order for the new PSU is in and estimated at 10-15 working, shall I clean W7 install first or should I take out the GPU and do a linux install to test the OBG?

The 25A 3.3 and 5v rail suggest group regulation the lack of a ul code on that label suggests the label might be a bit off if you will.

Yeah, the label is giving it away. With the exception of the "arrow" logo all of the other logos are off. Every other PSU certification/specs sticker I've image searched have identical logos. This one doesn't

Quick update. My new PSU arrived today (finally!) and everybody who said "It's the PSU!" was absolutely correct. Thanks so much for the advice you guys are my heroes.
