So hyped for this game! Finally WW1 based game. Mustard gas, trench warfare, Zepplins, German tanks, Red Baron's, etc.

EA f*cking it up.

I dont know.....I feel were getting all the candy looking shit, trailer which is all or mostly not gameplay.......Cant imagine you will be able to control anything big. Please dont let there be battle pickups or hero type pickups.....please dont let this be anything like Battlefront in terms of game design.
Nothing means nothing till we get some real multiplayer footage and actual peeps playing it. Not hyped at all right now which is a big letdown after waiting all this week. I dont want more melee weapons in BF personally.

I think the nay sayers of BF1 are the newer gen players that are reliant on lock on weapons to kill. They weren't playing PC games on the web 15+ years ago, back when it took skill to kill, and when the "hard" difficulty in a game could leave you stuck for an hour or more trying to clear an area in a campaign. I don't find myself wanting to throw my mouse across the room since the games of the olden days.

The more modern you go the harder it gets. Try loading up a flight sim with a modern plane, then load up Rise of Flight. Then tell me how many hours it took you to get your first kill in each respective title. Now BF isn't a sim, but the "modern" tanks were point/click (opposite of skill) anyways. There were only a few guided weapons and most of them weren't that useful. The only guided missile I used frequently was the manually guided missile for the IFVs. Aside from maps with a lot of boats I use the RPG exclusively. Too easy to negate the guided anti tank weapons to make them worthwhile. And they took time to lock on. An RPG you can instantly fire as you exit a vehicle. Very useful when your vehicle is about to blow and the enemy vehicle is still alive. With the guided missiles you'd be dead.

RO1 was pretty much a skill based version of BF. Stamina, weapon resting, artillery affecting you and whatnot made getting a kill much harder. You had to account for much more. BF was always a more casual shooter. Hence the point/click based gameplay for all the vehicles.

And the vehicles were atrocious in BF2. Felt like weightless hovercrafts.

Please explain how an assault rifle locks onto a target.
Also, noone cares about the sand in your vagina. Go play something on Amiga if you like.

Quite frankly, I'm an older player and owned the A500 etc etc. and ofcourse, no one is waiting for auto lockon weapons.
But my eldest son has great fun with some mods like fighting with old muskets and bajonets.
There's certainly a market for that, but it's not for me. I don't enjoy riding around on a horse with a sword in mp games.

Now the single bolt action rifles do look promising in mp, some automatic rifles with terrible spread. But I fear the tanks and airbombers will dominate.
I pressume sales will be great though, it's even tempting for me to try it out. Longevity though, I don't think so.
Maybe on consoles yes. But not on pc. Not with other titles coming like the new cod and homefront:revolution.

I played HL while the beta was live,and played a lot too, i liked the flow of one game mode,but disliked the rest.i was a force it the HAT truck, and had fun wrecking all, but once beta ended,and they released a half a year later,i just couldnt justify the purchse,especially since i had a strong feeling servers would be ghost towns. The potential was there,and im sure a lot of players liked it,but it just wasnt for me.
