A 64GB SSD be good enough for what I need?

I plan the following:

Install Windows 10 on it Plus all the Apps. Chrome, Opera, Steam, Plex

Once i get my hand back working (My left hand's Fingers are Weak/Bent) I'll install Games on Steam and i'll install the games on my bigger HDD

In all i'm just wondering if 64GB is enough

I recently got a SSD for a NUC I use for my HTPC and the price difference between a 64GB and a 128GB drive was so small that I got the 128GB instead of a 64GB because it was silly not to. If the difference is like 10-15$, why not get the bigger drive anyway. The extra space won't hurt.

Buying a 64GB drive today is buying a gimped drive, IMHO.

Last I looked you don't save enough $$$ to justify going smaller than a 120GB. I would recommend no less and honestly I'd recommend a 250GB. Just because you have plans today, doesn't mean you won't need more space tomorrow...plans change.

Had 120 for os + 1-2 games. It was okeysh, but that was many years ago. Today I wouldn't go for anything less than 240-256, even for OS+ some software.
Currently I have a 480 SSD as boot drive and for me that is good enough.

If you are buying a new drive, then there is no reason to go lower than 240GB. The most optimal SSD size today is 480-512GB due to low cost per GB, but 240-256GB are quite close.
The only reason you should consider 64GB, is if you are getting one for free, or no more than two packs of marlboros. New 60GB cost about as much as new 120GB.

Now to the main question. Is 60GB enough? Yes, for now.
I have a 128GB Samsung XP941 in my main rig and it is about <50GB full with Windows 10, MS Office, Visual Studio, Atmel Studio, and all the basic software installed (Chrome. thunderbird, codecs, media players etc.). I also have a separate 240GB SATA-III SSD for games and a HDD for large storage.

if u get it @ good price go for it
hdd to emmc = big difference
emmc to ssd = ok difference
hdd to ssd = Too much difference
no matter u get 64, 120 or any other but always get one with the latest controller btw after 120gb u will see very less difference (mostly in benches)
after 256GB u will see almost no difference at all

I got an Adata SP550 120GB (i think it was 120) for about $50 and it fits everything I need on my other desktop.

I'm actually planning that once my hand's fingers work (i got into a car accident and was in a coma for 4 months)

Glad you're recovering. Get a 1TB HDD for games and minimum 120GB SSD for OS/programs. It's an extremely good combo.

EDIT: I've actually done this combo (120gb ssd and a 320gb hdd) in my little AM1 rig and it works damn well, except I need a low-powered dGPU in there.

pretty much all of this. Anything less than 120GB is asking for problems imo. Given the usual price differences there is no point in debating it really.

I use a Force LS 60Gb as OS + drivers,skype,winamp,bsplayer,codecs and other programs and have 22.1 Gb free of 55.4 Gb

Better now to get a 120/240 Gb

Wow i had my friend come by and visit and He wanted to lift the motherboard out cause he saw the two LED lights not flashing up and wouldn't you know it there are two mSATA slots for wifi/SSD i bought one Wifi card and one SSD. Times are happening :rockout:

I hope that's not on the B85M-ITX, because that board has no mSATA. Also make sure that it's mSATA and not M.2 because those two are not interchangeable, and also make sure that the mSATA SSD actually fits in the slot because some slots are not long enough. I tend to stick by all-SSD because of my usage application, but in the event that I cannot afford a 500-1TB SSD I'd do a 240GB + HDD, which was my previous setup for a very long time.
