I don't know if you will be asking Santa for them because by that time the prices for the 1070/1080 may have come down, and AMD may have a high end answer by then to the new Pascal cards.

If it is still for sale by then, then it's probably safe to assume that AMD will slash the prices. It wasn't that much of an improvement over the 390/390X to begin with in the raw performance department, and now that the 1060 supposedly matches the GTX 980 (which had the edge over the 390X), it's even less appealing. With the RX 480's tiny PCB and GTX 970 performance, there's no more need for 12" cards just to get to that performance tier. Fury may have had a small PCB but still more or less needed 3-fan coolers to hit a just-above-390X performance point.

If you take a good look at the performance of high end cards of the current generation, I highly doubt you will want the last-gen Fury so much to buy 2 of them for Crossfire. 4GB of VRAM no longer elicits a response like "wow, I'll never get to use up all of this" at the high end.
