enters cs, complains about cheaters... Tell me friend when was that not the case? I've played cs all the way back to 1.2 and I can't remember a time when it wasn't full of them. Its why we always hosted our own servers with admin mod...which of course can be abused as well.

Competitive multiplayer games made me a very angry and unpleasant person. I was reasonably good at LoL and CS having played from childhood up until about the age of 21. Then I realised I was coming away from gaming more angry and wound up than when I started (despite winning in some cases), and discovered there are more fruitful forms of entertainment in gaming - pretty sure I'm less of a dick to people in general now too.

EDIT: I feel like CS in particular is a bit of an echo chamber. You get angry, so other people get angry, making you more angry and shouty. Russians with $1 microphones don't help the situation either.

Did you ever try ESEA, Cevo, Faceit? That is where you should be playing at those ranks. That is where all of the actual skill is. Rank S for ESEA is where all the pros hang out when they arent practising with their team, etc. They all have much better anti cheat measures for their servers compared to Valve's VAC that is about 10 years old, oh and 128 tick. ESEA being the best.

My experience so far has been okay on CSGO MM, i am currently GN2, with about 250 hours. Have heard that hacking in MM is really bad once you get past MG. Ill be hopefully moved onto ESEA once i hit atleast MGE. I absolutely love CS regardless, i do believe there is actual skill required to be good at the game. Not many FPS out there these days like that, and once you have a well coordinated team pretty amazing things can happen. I am also very much into the pro scene as well watching all the ELeague and ESL matches on Twitch. What some of the pros can do in the game amazes me. CS is where my PC gaming started, and it is again in the last 3 months, the only game i really want to play.

I have just started playing CS:GO. I have 20 something hours in and am not even ranked yet in competitive. I only have 4 out of the 10 required wins in order to be ranked.

That being said, I am enjoying the game. To me, the game is awkward in the fact that I do not enjoy casual mode. I find competitive mode much more laid back and I have always been paired with four other teammates who seemed to just be there for the enjoyment of the game.

I am not sure if I have met one hacker in competitive yet. No one has really stood out as being "too good" to me.

I also watched a video from JackFrags talking about the new Prime matchmaking system they have set up for competitive players rank 21 or higher. While I am yet to be rank 21, I believe he stated that he didn't meet any hackers when in Prime matchmaking, whereas he met a lot of hackers in regular matchmaking.

Also, while I do understand the frustration of having to rely on third party matchmaking for a game, there is always ESEA and FaceIt.

Prime is definitely better. People are also there to win most of the time so you have a lot more people wanting to communicate and come up with strats. I have run into some hackers, but then again lately have been quick to jump to the "hes hacking" claim, when he could just be better thsn me (game sense and all). I think hackers shy away from prime because if youre account is banned than any account associated with that mobile number is banned too.

Ranks in matchmaking mean nothing anyways. I have friends in gold nova that are better/the same as than many DMGs/LEs I used to encounter.

Yea, I am the same way to a point. I never could really get into CSGO personally but I tried since it was getting very competitive. But with a mix of cheaters and frustrations I ended up quitting as well.

I still play LoL and that game is a bit frustrating at times but I don't see cheaters so its fine for me. My shooters stay with the BF series (Mostly because I am tired of twitch shooters) and Halo. But that's just my games I enjoy and I have plenty of friends who still play CSGO religiously.
