Stock FX beats stock 980Ti at 1440p and higher if we trust TPU (for nearly a year already).
You sure?
perfrel_2560.gif perfrel_3840.gif

And modern example, 480 running at 1266 is (close in Futuremark benches that was leaked) to 1.7Ghz 1060 (34% higher clock)
Let's wait until actual reviews are here. Comparing the IPC between the two of them based on leaks is batshit.

Yep, take latest results from TPU, with new driver.
Equal at 1.440p and 2% difference in 4K. Didn't you say it beats a stock 980 Ti @ 1.440p? :slap:

Yep.
That's why it's a bit higher in ranks.

And 68 vs 66 is 3% difference. (68 is 3% more than 66)

You are right. But that doesn't change the fact that your statement
clock for clock Fury X would run circles around 980 Ti
is nothing but bogus.

Edit: Looking at the graphs from the MSI GTX 980 Ti Lightning (which I based my math upon) and the most recent graphs, the 1.440p equation wouldn't change at all (Fury X and GTX 980 Ti being equal in both graphs) and the 1080p equation would actually be favouring the GTX 980 Ti (3.85% instead of 3.95% difference in IPC).

Yeah, logical conclusion.
Oh wait, nope, it isn't.
Fury X is on par while being 13% behind in clockspeed, it would indeed be much faster if it ran at the same clock as 980Ti.

It turned into 480 thread, I guess.

BTW, that 980Ti vs Fury X at 1440p is a good example of how AMD closed the gap in about a year or so after release. (or even 6 month, I'm too lazy to go dig for links though)

My math proved that it is a 7.8% to 8.3% difference @ 1.440p. Even if it would be 13% more efficient (stock GTX 980 Ti is actually closer to 5%: (1.000 + 1.202) / 2 / 1050) no one with a sane mind would say:
clock for clock Fury X would run circles around 980T/TX
At this point you are about to disgrace yourself even more than you already did.

this thread has delivered!!!

and tbh so have amd. other than the public beta testing with the vrm levelling stuff they have ticked all the boxes they said they would.

you can get 2 of these for less than 1070 money and get 1080 performance if xfire is working.

i cant help but wonder if they will do a duo version. i just hope it aint got the same price as the last one :s

And those 3% is 2 frames per second. Not even the most trained gamer would be ever able to notice that.
And I guess we merely saw an improvement because the games W1zzard used/uses for the benchmarks have changed (especially Project CARS):

RX480 X2 would be nice. A GTX 1080 level performance for around 300€ less. Or you make a 3x RX480 for same price mas GTX 1080 XD

My math proved ...
To be rather weird.

At this poin...t
Your nitpicking got to rather unhealthy levels.

The argument that triggered your spooky reactions was that AMD cards have, in fact, higher IPC, than nVidia's.
You would need to learn to live with that fact, somehow.

And those 3% is 2 frames per second. Not even the most trained gamer would be ever able to notice that.
Many wouldn't notice 10% difference either.
And your point is?

According to you 10% is "running circles around" it.

16% is what separates 970 and 980, cards of different tiers.

Now you are even making less sense than before. Yes, the 980 Ti has roughly 4-8% percent less IPC than the Fury X depending on the resolution. But it is still way faster.

The argument that triggered your spooky reactions was that AMD cards have, in fact, higher IPC, than nVidia's.
You would need to learn to live with that fact, somehow.
I admitted it was higher and even proved it with math. All you do is twisting facts and pointing at other directions to distract from your camp claim. Anyways, I'll leave this matter alone from now on.

Good info but you might want to add a disclaimer to your post (i know one will be in the link). There are a lot of people out there that think OC on a modded bios is free and has no risk.

Done! Should be clear now :D
