I traded my 970 for a EVGA 980Ti SC http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-4992-KR put it under an Xtreme III cooler. But i don`t want tot use that thermal glue with wich i`m supposed to fix the radiators on top of VRM modules and RAM. For the RAM modules i had some Chinese CU radiators and adhesive pads.
For the VRM cooling i used the thermal pads from the stock cooling with a few AL radiators and some fishing line to keep it all in place.
I tested the card in EVGA test tool and Dirt Rally for about 45 minutes, it worked fine with +100 on GPU and 110% power target. Went to 68ºC with 31ºC ambient temperature.
My question is should i leave that improvisation in place or is the airflow from the coolers all that it needs for that 100-125+ Mhz ?
Thanks.
