980Ti VRM cooling

I traded my 970 for a EVGA 980Ti SC http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-4992-KR put it under an Xtreme III cooler. But i don`t want tot use that thermal glue with wich i`m supposed to fix the radiators on top of VRM modules and RAM. For the RAM modules i had some Chinese CU radiators and adhesive pads.
For the VRM cooling i used the thermal pads from the stock cooling with a few AL radiators and some fishing line to keep it all in place.
I tested the card in EVGA test tool and Dirt Rally for about 45 minutes, it worked fine with +100 on GPU and 110% power target. Went to 68ºC with 31ºC ambient temperature.

My question is should i leave that improvisation in place or is the airflow from the coolers all that it needs for that 100-125+ Mhz ?
Thanks.

Extra cooling would never hurt, but if I were you, I would find some heatsinks with adhesive strips attached or thermal glue. This, on the other hand, can go to the "Ghetto Mods" thread :D

You can link it i don`t mind :D
I will try using the bottom part of the stock cooler with the stock thermal pads like ruff0r suggested. Will update when i get home.

I saw that, i think the last card i had with VRM sensors was a MSI 280x.

Well the bottom plate from the stock cooler idea did not work. It took about 6 hours of cutting and fiddling with that damned piece of metal to realize that for a few millimeters it would not work. The cooler's (Xtreme III from Arctic Colling) cooper plate was above the GPU by about 2-3 mm. I tried sandwiching a CPU IHS between the GPU and the Xtreme III but the temps were horrbile about 85-87ºC load.
I installed the Xtreme III like it was meant by gluing the radiators to the VRM and vRAM modules( a little ghetto modding involved :D by gluing 2 vRAM heatsinks with one VRM as shown).
Temps are about 60ºC(1500 fixed rpm) load in MGS 5; Phantom Pain or Witcher no frame cap, 1440p all maxed without AA. Ambient 30ºC. +110 core clock boosts to 1388Mhz.
