Asus r9 390x

Hi, I have two r9 390x's(non strix) and I noticed a bios update for the STRIX R9 390 DirectCU III OC. will this bios update work for the non strix or should I stay well away?
Been having issues with black screen on 4k monitor and looking for some sort of fix.
