16.7.2 WHQL Re-release today?

Got an update notification from Crimson, a newer version of Crimson just released. Driver version is still 16.7.2, however the following improvements was detailed in the release notes:

1. Support for DOOM (with Vulkan API) – enables performance enhancements through support for Async Compute and Shader Intrinsics.

2. These drivers are now Microsoft WHQL certified

Shit Microsoft WHQL certified, and you know what i uninstalled these as i was having a issue with Arma 3 when they were released, which is why i dropped back too 16.6.2 and problem went away again.

Been the 1st issue i have had for years with new drivers, maybe it was a bad install but my 290X is running perfectly fine anyways so.

As the Microsoft WHQL certified mean absolutely nothing to me i will just wait until the next ones.

Performance actually increased for me in Timespy. From 5212 to 5362 for the same 1100MHz core OC.

Current version of GPU-Z is reporting it as 16.7.2 for me, same as did the last build of GPU-Z, 0.89. It says beta though, not WHQL, and I still think it's beta, since AMD's own site lists 16.7.2 as a hotfix, with 16.3.2 listed underneath as WHQL.

It's certainly confusing, with the listed Hotfix number actually downloading the WHQL for me last night.

No, what I'm saying is, some sites verify there's a 16.7.3 now, and that it's WHQL, it's just that AMD hasn't put it up on their site yet. It's common though that you can get AMD's latest drivers elsewhere before they appear on their site.

I just did a driver search on their site from west coast USA, and it still shows 16.7.2, release date 7/18.

i did that earlier as well, i wasnt drunk or wrekt yesterday....maybe my eyes are fooling me

my installer package says 16.7.2 dated 7/19

I just downloaded and installed 16.7.2-july19 from AMD's website. After reboot GPU-Z indicates the version is 16.7.3

July 19? Every time I do a search for drivers using their configurator where you plug in the info, it says 7/18 release date.

How are you locating it on their site?

I didn't use the helper program, clicked find drivers, then selected Rx 480 win 10 64 bit from the menu on the right side

If you're in England, no doubt why there's a one day difference. I'm going to re-download and install it to see if it shows up as 16.7.3 this time though.

...OK, just redownloaded/reinstalled, and now it shows as WHQL 16.7.3 in GPU-Z. Looks like AMD failed to label it 16.7.3 on their site.
