I suspect ZEN will be average at best relative to Intel, but AMD fans seem to lap up average, so ultimately AMD will be fine.

Well hey, if average is good enough to warrant a purchase I say we all purchase AMD and support their efforts and future competition.
I mean, I dont really need it but im hoping Zen will be good enough to jump unto from my current 2600k

It's the only realistic thing to expect. And average is fine, if priced accordingly

If is the same performance level in games, but lower in other tasks, I think it will have a huge success.

In order to keep succesfull all that ZEN has todo is stick to intels best offer, and with a lower price-tag, and make sure to continue to contract MS, Sony and Nintendo for it's APU's and things will be fine.

The more APU's being sold the more better asynchronous compute will be supported in the future. And that is a positive thing for AMD videocards.

Intel fanboys are going to be very butthurt when Vulkan is standard and poor people are matching their framerates with 10 yr old AMD CPUs lol.

have to wonder what could have been if AMD bought nvidia and let JHH run the company instead.

It's not that simple anymore. It needs to pack enough PCIe lanes, offer enough USB3.0/3.1 ports, maybe Thunderbolt, good network performance.

Technically major shareholders are liable for debts if the company goes under.

That's not correct, if the company files for bankruptcy protection, the company liquidates all of its assets, paying off its debts first (including bond holders), with the remainder going to the share holders. Business owners establish their companies as LLC's (Limited Liability Corporation) exactly to prevent what you are describing, to separate the company's liabilities from their personal assets. This same protection is afforded to companies that have gone puplic (companies that have stock publicly available to buy and sell via the stock market).

Yes cases vary but in cases where major shareholders are considered the company owners, personal assets can and have been seized to repay company debts.
Though I am sure anybody owning a few shares in AMD wont have to worry.

I can see why even AMD use Intel CPU's to show off their hardware!

That will teach those Intel fanboys a lesson.

Really,....?

I didn't know that either. What is the point of incorporating if it doesnt protect you as an individual from such things?
you didn't know that because it's not true, caring1 really needs to stop spreading that misinformation.

Again, what you're describing simply doesn't happen. An investor can make a Private Placement to the company help it pay off its debts, but in the scenario of insolvency and liquidation in public companies, shareholders are only at risk the amount in which they invested into the company.

This graph really shows just how much more driver overhead there is with AMD cards vs nvidia...
