Hello,

I want to build my first gaming computer and for this i have 1200 CAD all charge included.
My only requirement is to have a intel/NVIDIA combo.
I would like to know if at this price i can afford a NVIDIA 1080/1070 spec.
I wonder if you could help me to build this bad boy. ;)

First of all thanks for the replies :)
For the price i just want the box, no peripherals no LCD, i'm aware that the prices must be increased, i guess i could afford a 1400 CAD build, but i rather want something below that price cause i have to buy a keyboard and a Screen.
I don't want to low all the components to have a 1080, i want something that can be the "best" for this price ;)

little cat, i like your build, that sounds great, how much do i have to add to have 16GB of RAM DDR4 ?
EDIT : I had bad experience with gigabyte, so is there a real difference between the brands?

1070, not quite, if you need OS.

and yeah, 8 GB of ram isn't enough. If you could possibly increase your budget by $200-$300, you'd end up with a much better configuration.

personally, i would take @little cat 's advice, but switch the 1070 for a 1060, and add a 128/256gb ssd for your OS and other demanding programs. There's ~CAD$200 difference between 1070 and 1060. you could get a 256gb Samsung 850 PRO for the savings dropping to a 1060 (you may have to wait for availability depending on when you build as newegg is out of stock on 1060s)

i must say as a fellow Canadian, im pretty embarrassed by the price of our products compared to the states. My RX 480 was $405 CAN and thats crazy compared to the $249 USA price of the 480. Curse the exchange rate :p

Oh an i7 !! is there a big difference between i5 and i7 ?
I also have a monitor, i will buy an other one when i'll get more money.
Also i'm new in Canada (i from France), so i don't understand well all the taxes, do you think it's better to buy parts from one website or took it like it's said in your post ?

Should have said before about the monitor . The best is i7 6700K . A bit compromise is i7 6700 or overclocked i5 6600K

Where in Canada? Tax is different in every province. I'm in Alberta, and we pay 5% tax only (G.S.T.) since there is no provincial tax.

You might also save on shipping by buying from one retailer. Many will match prices of other retailers, too, so the prices you might get from store to store aren't that important, since if you chose the right retailer, they'll match the lowest at least, if not beat it by a little bit.

15% tax there. 9.975% from province, 5% from federal government.
Ok thanks ! And is there a difference buying parts in different website besides shipping taxes ?
EDIT : OK i just read the part about the retailer

I would say no, if buying from one of the bigger online retailers. These retailers tend to offer lower prices than smaller shops (since they sell more items, they can afford to).

NCIX, Canada Computers and Direct Canada I have dealt with lots, and have been very happy with. All three offer price-matching.

All boards these days have some sort of audio. Most are using Realtek ALC1150, which a very good audio CODEC.
