Palit dual gtx 1060 not stable fps in projectcars

I have this new palit dual gtx 1060

First impression was that it was silent and fast enought to handle need for speed shift 2 unleashed at 3440x1440 and 100 fps at medium settings (predator x34)

I must admit i used geforce experience instead of using the setting there was when i used a evga gtx 960 ssc 4gb (extremly silent at max load, much better than the palit dual 1060) and mabye set graphic in the game a bit higher (theres a very big difference in performance between a stock gtx 960/1060)

I changed some games from 2560x1440 to 3440x1440 without changing the graphic settings or only lower it by 1 notch

When i played projectcars i had trouble getting 90-100fps, settings down to medium (im not a graphic and fps hore ), i get somtimes in the middle 60's and somtimes even abit above 90 fps, which i think is to much difference, temps went up to 74 as max and 63% fan speed, still quiet, but not in any way as silent as my evga gtx 960 ssc 4gb

When i play projectcars (don't know if that happend with need for speed shift 2 unleashed) boost clock went above stock boost clock 1708mhz all the way to 1835mhz

Is it a driver issue?

I don't see an issue. The boost clock going higher happens and is normal. Project Cars is a demanding game and the card might not be up to par with where you want it.

I remember i got stable fps in project cars with my gtx 960

Just don't remember graphic settings and fps i got with the gtx 960

I find it funny how people buy top of the line monitor and then skimp on graphic card. Acer Predator monitor deserves GTX 1080 and nothing else. That's a fact. I mean, if you re-balance the pixel density we are essentially talking 4K resolution. Only card capable of that at the moment is GTX 1080. You're in the same situation most people were with early 1080p monitors. They bought them cheap and then didn't have decent graphic card to run that. Today, if you want cheap gaming you still have to be on 1080p monitor, maybe 1440p if you're brave. And hook that to a GTX 1060.

My gtx 960 was a ssc 4gb and oced alot above stock speed (factory oced), for the gpu it is, it's actually very fast and extremly silent
it's very good for gaming on a 3440x1440 with older titles

It was a temporary gpu, i wanted to use the 90 days step up, but desided i didn't wanted to wait for the new card to arrive,
also sending it back to evga cost alot from denmark.

Have had a gtx 980, sold it to get a gtx 980 ti, had 2 cards (not sli) gigabyte and msi when it's hot here in denmark
a gtx 980 ti in my define r5 with silent noctua 140mm casefans and NH-d15 cpu cooler, both cards got very hot and noisy, msi 65% fan speed it throttled when it was hottest here in denmark, around 30-31.5 degress in my living room, gigabytes card was much more noisy

From that moment on i desided that i would never have such a hot card as the gtx 980 ti

Tried gtx 960 sli with games i couldn't play with 2 cards, ended up with a evga gtx 960 ssc 4gb as a temporary gpu

A gtx 1060 is alot faster then gtx 960, about the same as 2 stock gtx 960

A gtx 1070 is a bit to expensive atm, for my needs i have found out that the minimum cards are gtx 980/1060
no less then that, although i found my evga gtx 960 ssc 4gb to be a very good,fast card

You ended up buying a GTX1060 (would be my choice as well if I couldn't afford a GTX1070)

Yes it was, i never talk about amd gpu's since i have a g sync monitor

So far oced to the same as the jet superstream,1620mhz, close to a boost speed of 2000mhz

Found it, the user that talked a lot about the RX480 was "Gasolina"

it's just the same a the jet superstream, played a little projectcars and when i looked i got in the late 80's at medium settings
text resolution high.

Okay ultra/highest settings makes it look better, but it's not gonna make me better at driving,handle the car and gameplay are just about the same at medium setting as it would be on higher settings
