I install the OS and Programs on my C: drive (SSD) and all my Steam games are on my HDD. Even with fast boot on, an HDD is waaaay slower than an SSD. I would keep Windows on the SSD and migrate the games to your hard drive.

Whats a HDD?
Hard Disc Drive, the oposite of a SSD ;)

Wasn't trying to sound unoptimistic but In my defense I asked for help on how to uninstall Windows not a lecture on having it on a SSD.
well don't take it as a lecture but a recommendation ... technically ;)

original post.
I am wanting to remove windows from my SSD. My SSD is only 120GB and program files automatically install there, I have tried changing directories to another drive but it eventually messes something up. So now I will be installing windows to onto my HDD and the SSD will be the second drive.

Does anyone have some advice on how to completely remove windows from my SSD?
Thanks.

Refuting advice given by others doesn't go very far in getting you better help or contributing to a useful discussion. For the record, getting errors after moving directories is an obvious consequence of carelessly making the move without using reinstallation methods or in-application features to facilitate the migration.

As for your original question, even the Windows installer is intelligent enough to overwrite an existing installation / data drive to put in a new install of Windows without extra directions. Reinstalling windows nowadays is virtually the same as installing Windows. As for removal, install on another drive then go to Drive Manager and format your old drive. Problem solved. In conclusion, you really shouldn't be asking for help if you don't want it, and you are a terrible troll.

well he used regedit to repoint the install... (for me moving works only on certain soft and games, albeit almost all, aka: moving my STEAM games or AW from the main rig to the alpha to avoid a redownload)

My post was answered a week ago (approx) I gave the people who answered a thanks, people were still questioning me after it was clearly answered, all I did was say "Whats a SSD?" "Whats a HDD?" and I'm considered a troll, okay mate. BTW it was answered by Jetster

If you install windows on the HDD completely disconnect the SSD. Then after the install is complete reconnect it. Then delete the SSD partition from Disk Manager

When ever you install Windows. Only have the system drive connected. Connect the others after the installation

It was pretty simple and straight forward but people can miss the simplest things. His answer received "You, SnakeDoctor, manofthem and 2 others say thanks." So i'd say this post was helpful.

Last but not least I don't have steam so I can't set up an automatic directory with it.

yes but more help to get it right would have been welcome by most other people with the same question but not you ...
but you bothered more about "what's a HDD" "what's a SSD" than rather reading recommendation instead of keeping on a un-optimal way, don't worry... i was like you before ...
and YES those question (since you already know what is a SSD or a HDD ... i hope so otherwise it's really sad ... ) are trolling.

Last but not least I don't have steam so I can't set up an automatic directory with it.
you can do it with all that has an installation executable ... you can also set it up in windows 10's storages options (AKA the picture i had in the post where you quoted only the 1st half of the post) , heck you can also do it with nearly any programs without messing up with regedit ( i can do it ... you can do it ... otherwise it would be strange) i did not only talk about STEAM but you just read what you want and don't even consider if we give you a better alternative ...

btw Jetster 1st answer was in the general direction taken by all the other that tried to help, which is the one you thanked ;)
They are many ways. The easiest if use the windows disk and act like you are installing. Custom install and then delete the partitions. The just shut the power off or create another clean partition
You can also use Diskpart
You can use a Linux live disk

But I would install Windows on the SSD, then the few programs you need. Games you might want on a separate drive

The biggest advantage of an SSD is a fast start up

oh btw (again) if you delete a a partition containing windows you will have to re install all soft and programs that where on the SSD so in the end a OS reinstall on SSD would enable you to install soft and games on the HDD without using regedit, by specifying directly the drive where you want to install them, while keeping the advantage of a SSD for your OS... but ... that's only a recommendation ;)

off.

You did show a picture?Oh sorry I didn't see that... Anyway I was talking about automated install which I mentioned. The main reason I wanted to move it to HDD is so I didn't have to change the directory from my SSD to HDD every time it prompted me.

Also read through most of the comments, they're not helpful.
