Need help removing hijack malware from chrome

Hey guys, somehow i got an annoying hijack type of malware in chrome and i have tried getting rid of it using a few different Antivirus and antimalware programs but nothing is working.

I even uninstalled and reinstalled chrome. What the malware is doing after i start browsing on chrome for a few minutes it keep redirecting me to different websites.

Microsoft edge is unaffected buy it just chrome. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Might try Malwarebytes (if not done yet) , Zone Alarm Free AV

But first , i would remove chrome and install 64bit Chrome
Also from Add/Remove Programs - uninstall anything suspicious

Also remove some suspicious extensions . from Chrome : More Tools
and Setting -> Search Engine : Google:

Um it takes way longer than ten minutes to reinstall windows. With all the drivers backing up all my informatiin redownloading all my games from steam origin. The whole process would take me all day.

First delete all cookies and temp files

Malware bytes doesn't fix it then try Spybot. If that doesn't fix

I keep a back up image for just these circumstance. By the time you mess around with various programs you could have reinstalled. It literally is the fastest route. Next time you do a clean install make a image.

If you have a SSD OS drive, it does take about 5 minutes to reinstall windows. And, as others suggested, taking a clean image of your HDD is also an option.

In my case, I don't use many programs and I prefer complete reinstall once in a while. I guess not having any games is a pro in my case here. But I've never had to reinstall due to malware. Watch what sites you visit. Especially watch out for those chinese download service sites.

+1 about formatting and reinstalling - it's the only sure way to know that you've got rid of the malware and that you don't have a damaged operating system. @stoggs1 This is why I don't recommend any other method of getting rid of malware. Sorry it's gonna take ages, but sometimes one has to bite the bullet to do it right :ohwell:

and malware isn't something that's worth taking even the slightest chance with.

No way 10 minutes for updates though, more like hours. This is especially true with Windows 7 nowadays, where an initial Windows Update scan after installing from an SP1 disc takes a whopping 12 hours or so courtesy of Microsoft. Windows 10 updates at the proper speed however. Go figure...

check the shortcut you're using to open your browser. its the last place people check, but quite often that is modified to contain a link to reinstall the malware.

What I use for Anti-virus is AVAST! and for Spyware I use SUPERAnti-Spyware and Malwarebytes and Ccleaner for cookie and registry cleaning

when it comes to malware removal its best to do it in the correct order.

Root/boot kits
Virus
Malware.

To get you moving I would recommend the following.

TDSS
Roguekiller
EEK
ADW
JRT

Ideally in that order.

However if its really bad you can start with ADW and JRT that should get your browser clean.

I have more I can add to the list (I study Digital Forensics) I remove virus' everyday. Getting you cleaned up seriously shouldn't be an issue. Its really paramount when it comes to infections to handle things in the correct order.

sometimes cleaning and trying to clean take more time than a fresh install

i have a complete image of c: (os+all stuff i need&use) which take 7-8 minutes to be copied and have fresh install when i desire;even without virus or malware problems i noticed that every 6 month a fresh copy make things faster
