Bought the game yesterday when it released. Ive been excited for the concept of the game for a while, but have been ignoring all the lame hype for the game.

So far Im about 2 hours into the game, everything is running decent. Capped @ 60FPS.... overall the game runs smoothly, however I do encounter some slight stuttering here and there, nothing major for me.

I am enjoying the game so far alot.... having no crashing issues like others are reporting.

So, after playing this game for over 4 hours i must say I'm really happy with it. I had to change 4x MSAA setting to FXAA, disable vsync and gsync and set frame limit to 60 fps. After that game felt pretty smooth, hardly ever drops bellow 60fps. Not a single crash so far either. Whenever i ALT+TAB from game, then i go to Steam and click on "play" (NMS) and i brings back the game window instead of crashing. It definitely needs a patch or two and possibly updated Nvidia driver, but for now it's more than playable.
Still exploring my second planet slowly and gathering resources so i can buy a new spaceship later.

just remember that if you pre-ordered, get the hyperdrive blueprint before calling in your new ship or you get screwed later.

Yeah, but anyone knows how to make this game render at native resolution instead of 720p?!? The graphics is blurry as hell!

You can try setting Aniostropic Filtering to x16 in the Nvidia CP and texture filtering quality to the best setting. In may help a little.

Same here, but I'm playing for the exploration and not graphics. I'm leaving that to Star Citizen.

6 hours of play time (couldn't play most of today sadly) and I did experience one random crash. Lucky me it happened immediately after saving. That and some graphical glitches are all I have experienced so far that is bad.

I'm almost 100% on my first world.

Is there a way to scan the birds? I can't seem to lock on to those bastards. ooooh maybe a upgrade to range on the scanner will do the trick...must try.

Yep, you can scan then I had to wait for them to fly near me. It also helps to zoom.

I managed to screw up even without pre-ordering the game

As soon as i got my hyper drive working i found very nice spaceship and bought it. Only later i noticed it was missing hyper drive and now I'm grinding resources so i can buy a new spaceship which has hyper drive in it already. Only ~3mil. loss

BTW, anti-aliasing doesn't seem to work for me and there's no NMS profile in Nvidia CP. I did create my own profile so i can set "prefer maximum performance" option but that's pretty much i can do about it. We need a hotfix from Nvidia.

This fix works wonders.
Also if you are like me and hate horizontal tearing almost as much as stuttering, the game is in OpenGL and the triple buffered vsync forced from nvidia control panel works quite well ... in control panel, max. prerendered frames = 1, triple buffering = on and vsync = on, and in game vsync = off and frame limit = max.

I sat in a space dock for 2 hours watching ships. The biggest that ever came in and rarely at that is the one I bought. It is a 25 slot ship. That is so far the biggest I've seen and compared to all the other ships I've laid eyes on...this is by far the biggest. But in this case 'biggest' isn't much bigger actually.

I read that the devs plan to release larger ships including BIG ol freighters and such. I look forward to that as trader class is what I'm aiming for.

They need to add the ability to sell ships, and own more than one. I want to build my own station and store my ships.

What exactly you're building? Have you reached at least first Atlas? Main quest is to reach center of the galaxy.

Larger spaceships doesn't mean more slots. I saw ships 4 times smaller than mine with more slots. It doesn't really make much sense though.

BTW, DSR in this game really pays off. Everything looks much smoother, sharper textures. Pretty sure next Nvidia driver update will fix anti aliasing issues but for now DSR is way to go.

Found 2 crashed ships 1st one was 17slots coz my was 15 I decided to go for it, but then in next 10 minutes I found 18slot crashed ship. And again I had to go for it. Than some crazy lizard wanted to sell me it's ship witch looked exactly same as my 18slot ship only with 25 slots for wopping 3mil I said no thank you. In shop I nocited one item what costs 3mil credits. SOmething related to artifacts, I hope I found one some day to sell

. Left 1st planet with 77% exploration, moved to next one.

I spent two hours in a space station where they were buying one item at 100% markup. I would run to the landing pads, buy them up, then run back to the galactic trader and sell them. I wound up with 4 million units by the time I was done.

Too bad you can't actually rename the ship in the game ... but it's fine if you want to rename a life form or a rock ... huge oversight IMO
