Hello guys, so I slow but firm getting my system done, now is not exactly as I want but the base is done and is running, my gtx 980 sc is dead but i'm waiting for refund and I will get EVGA GTX1080 classified, and as far cooling also will be set up an closed loop water cooling system EK Predator 240mm and I will get 3 120mm Red LED Fans Corsair Pro, now the problem is I'm facing now is that during gaming or watching videos on YouTube or just doing something on PC my screen randomly flash black for 2sec and then gets back normal as it's nothing, no performance lose no mobo error's codes no strange effects nothing just this flashing random screen! This is pity annoying and I already did pity much all tests and checked all with benchmarks and furmarks and nothing is saying is wrong, the only thing I still need to check is my Corsair DDR4 3000Mhz Dominator platinum 8Gb Stick as I got it for 30£ at CEX it was new even with adhesive on corsair logos still, but for some reason person that had this 16GB kit sold one of his 8GB stick so this makes me thing is probably RAM causing this problem!

Oh and also this might be GPU as I got just till my GTX 1080 come, I got for very reasonable price and used EVGA GTX 680 SC Plus with reference cooler also on CEX with 2 years warranty , It also can be GPU but in games and tests it's just showing outstanding performance and temps are good, ex; BF4 ultra set 1080p with AA on x2 I get solid 60+ FPS and temps are never higher than 67c for long gaming period it can reach 70c but that's max in all time is 67max/65min!

Guys what you thing and what is your suggestions ?

Thank you all and with best Regards Stanley.

Hey mate, yes I did in fact I also changed power options to windows not do that fast start up option is off, as I have read on some other forums this option can cause an QR post code 40 that is like pc coming up from sleep mode, so I switch that option off, just to be sure is nothing related to sleep mod.

Same! My friend now got only 12GB as they also screwed up his stick of ram he got like two 8GB sticks to be on 16GB but only one worked! Then we went to a Maplin and got one from there 4GB and he got by the end 12GB instead of 16Gb! CEX is good store but poor costumer service and they by far need to improve! Also when you buy online from them is like a Cat in the bag you never know what you get! Sucks so much! As many of the products have no any description on them and there is no chance to check what you get!

Well guys, is a good store with nice hardware, but they have problems in many things like, product control that might be checking hardware properly, then they overprice stuff and I'm referring in this case GPU's like TITAN X for 500£ when its used! And an 600£ GTX 1080 stock even can outperform that titan x! Is an mess out there but they can fix that!

Now guys back to my problem any more suggestions ? hummm :banghead:

Our CEX will test PC stuff except CPU's & RAM, you have to admit it would be very hard to test CPU's... would need like 20 test beds lol, they test GPU's though.

See what the new card does. If it still happens, I would swap in a different power supply - at least for testing. You always want to ensure good clean power is getting there before spending money on anything else.

I dont mind CEX but only because i used to know a really hot girl that worked there in the past.

Also. From my experience, this sounds like a ram issue. I have gad a similar experience in the past with some corsair ram that went away after i replaced them

Yes I know my friend, but my psu is brand new and I tested it and it delivers max power even if the system is loaded up more than 650w as this is 80plus gold and we talking about an 90£ PSU by corsair the new line of the RM series, my psu is an RMi I can see how much it pulls up from the wall and under heavy load! it even not getting close to 500W so I still have almost 200 +/- watts to spear, i can say in the Safe Zone. Even that i'm going with an evga GTX1080 I will be fine with this 650watts psu.

Does not matter. Until Man can create perfection 100% of the time, there will always be units that don't perform as expected 100% of the time - even within the top of the line models from the most reliable maker. If that were not the case, Corsair, Seasonic, EVGA and the other quality brand PSU makers would not have RMA programs.

There are a couple hundred components in each PSU from dozens of different suppliers. We cannot expect each and every one to perform to perfection every time. Well, we can (and do) expect it - especially after spending good money on it, but it is not realistic to assume it will always be so.

Since EVERYTHING inside the computer depends on good, clean, stable power, I stand by my advice. And before assuming something else is bad (if still having problems with new card) ensure you are supplying good, clean and "stable" power with a different PSU - if for no other reason than to prove beyond a doubt your Corsair is working perfectly.

Can't argue with that. I am on my 2nd Seasonic X-1050 80+ Gold. The first one crapped out. So yeah even Seasonic can get it wrong.

I had this kind of problem before. The monitor flashes blanks on random occasions sometimes twice a day, sometimes a few days later... Turns out my monitors mainboard was dying.. maybe because u have the same type of monitor i have, i would only assume its the same problem.. eventually 2 things will happen, the monitor wont turn back on when u turn on your pc, the power lights will turn blue then instantly turn back to orange(standby mode) or the monitor refuses to turn on at all.

Like I said its just my assumption based on your monitor type. IF... a big IF... that happens, send the monitor to your nearest Acer service center for repair.

Sorry if this post is not helping... Just my 2 cent based on what happened to me..

Yeah, we had a DOA Seasonic here before, and not long after that, a Seasonic set off a fireworks display upon first power up. But in all fairness, the box that 2nd one was shipped in looked it like fell off the truck.

Yeah, probably a good idea to swap in a different monitor for awhile too and see what happens.

I also have a similar issue for the past few months as "the screen is flashing black for a second then all back to normal" either when i play a game or when I am doing anything in windows desktop. In addition I also get rare blurry screen (you can see in my 3 day old thread here https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...urry-or-pc-locks-or-light-blue-screen.224751/ ) or I get a light blue screen (and must reset pc) or my pc freezes.

While my problem seems more severe because of the other issues, the most frequent problem is the screen flashing black...

Initially my thoughts was either problem with GPU or monitor having a problem.

I changed the following things 3 days ago and haven't had any issues since then (*screen flashing was happening few times per day before*).

-Gave a little more voltage to the cpu (from 1.14 to 1.16v) (4790k stock Ghz but reduced voltage cause it was auto idling at 1.4v lol)
-Lowered ram cycle to 2T (had it at 1T for the last years on previous systems too). Note i also have dominator platinum ram but diffent density +drr3 version
-Re-seat gpu and changed every PSU cable i could
-changed gsync setting but that shouldnt apply to you

Still trying to figure out whats was going on, but I haven't had a single screen flash or any of the other rare issues in the last 3 days so maybe you can try what I did. I hope it helps.

Edit: forgot to mention I switched PSU mode from passive to active, so now the PSU fan spins 100% of the time.

Thank you all guys for your comments and back to this,

Well Kaynar I did all that, you mentioned, also changed my gpu 6pin cables to new ones and did some slight improvement on the cable managment, then went to BIOS and changed all to default then turned my memory to original speed manually to 3000Mhz under 1.35volts. set my CPU with 1.24v and the rest is Auto now my CPU runs at stock 4.0Ghz and boost up to 4.2Ghz so is pity much all stock, Oh and I unplugged and plug back the gpu just in case o_O and actually my ram is running in 2T.

Now after all that abracadabra I went back to Windows and for about almost 2 hours I was thinking WOOW it WORKED !! But damn F**** me!! :pimp:This S*** just got back when I run the War Thunder about mid of Fight BAMM! TAKE IT BI** black screen for a second and back to normal as its just not there! So this problem is back on track

So guys more suggestions are welcome! And guys how this Mem button works on my MB ? How do I do it, to test my memory ?

Thank you all!

The Mem Ok button just resets it to default in case of compatibility issues
