ZOTAC today unveiled its GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB graphics card (model: ZT-P106A-10L). Entirely custom-design, this card combines a compact cooling solution that's little more than a monolithic heatsink with radially-projecting, forked aluminium fins, a copper core, and an 80 mm fan; with a custom-design PCB that draws power from a single 6-pin PCIe power connector.

The card sticks to NVIDIA-reference clock speeds of 1506 MHz core, 1708 MHz GPU Boost, and 8.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory. Display outputs include three one each of HDMI 2.0b, dual-link DVI, and three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors. Expect this card to retail at the $199 baseline price NVIDIA set for this SKU.

Meanwhile, GTX1060 retail between 300-400 Euro (mostly 340-360) in my country and apparently every other shop in Europe that I searched :D

based on USD-Euro conversion these cards should cost 150-180Euro if its 200USD. Price gouging much? :D

GTX1060 Castrated edition...

They trimmed off stream processors... 128 to be exact.

One of the biggest differences that you will see between the 3GB and 6GB video RAM version is the CUDA core count. Where the 6GB version sports a total of 1280 CUDA cores, the 3GB model features 1152 cores. The GPU has one of its 10 SM units disabled hence we are looking at a lower core count. It is rumored that the GeForce GTX 1060 with 3 GB memory comes with the cut down GP106-300-A1 core while the 6 GB variant features the GP106-400-A1 SKU.

I was trying to get a 6GB Zotac GTX1060 through my relatives in US, but it seems like I'm always too late to the party (out of stock as long as it was listed)...
Let's hope the 3GB one won't be as popular, so I could finally modernize my ITX rig. I don't need much, just a solid small card that can play Witcher 3 in 1080p.

In my country you can only get a 10-series card, that was smuggled into the country in person. Retailers are out, or never had them in the first place (just pointless listings for GTX1080FE at $900-1000). Customs will either confiscate [steal] it (if not declared at correct price), or add some ridiculous customs fee, so you won't be able to buy it out.

I have the full 6GB 1060 mini, and it has a wimpy heatsink, no problems though so far. 3GB 1060 is going to be an extremely popular card for older PCs I bet, am interested in TPU's power measurements for a stock (non-oc) model.

It is also hard to use copper, it looks like only laptops get treated with the most appropriate elements. The companies are acting as if copper cost the same as silver by not including it, is it really that much more expensive?

Near as I can tell it doesn't necessarily matter all that much where you are located. It's hard to get your hands on a GTX 1060 6GB at the MSRP of about ~$249 USD and the same is true for the RX 480 4GB / 8GB with respect to MSRP.

I put in for an auto notification from Newegg for a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 6GB that should retail for about ~$249 and when the notification came in it was jacked up to ~$289.99 USD. A full ~$40 USD more then it should be. Its fine since I can wait for the prices to normalize to what it should be on these cards but by the time that happens something new will probably be out,....

In other words its a modern GTX 780 Ti (performance-wise) for $199. Not bad (and 3GB is enough for 1080p in this performance category).
