Battery Mah

is there a chip or something in the OS Kernel where the phone is locked at the Mah of the Battery?

Like my LG G4 Has a 3000mah Battery but i have 3 Extended Batteries but they All say 3000mah in the Settings and i use an App to Edit the Mah in the App but can't in the Settings

Not sure about your but Li Ion battery's can have chip(s) for protection.

Are they aftermarker batteries? It very well could be programmed into the phone that the capacity is a certain amount.

4500mah from TQTHL (slim which is the same size as the original)
6000mah from Hyperion
8200mah from Heliotion

if the battery has more genuine capacity the phone will have a longer run time.. what it reports is probably just a stock battery capacity and nothing else..

without being much larger in physical size the 8200 mah sounds little to good to be true..

batteries can (and do) say anything on them.. usually the higher the figure the more likely it is to be false..

Not likely. I tested my 4500, 6000, and 8200. All had the screen on the entire time with Brightness @40

A chip - that is, an IC or integrated circuit, a piece of "hardware" in the kernel - which is "software"? ??? Ummm, no.

In reading up on this phone a bit, it seems "Smart Settings" should be handling this but I also see where providers are dinking with these options too. I note one user reported Verizon removed the Smart Settings" feature completely from his LG G4. You might want to contact your provider.

Yeah good luck with that. Verizon is known for bloatware and crap. I May switch to AT&T or Wal-Marts plan which uses T-MOBILE or AT&T networks

They all are, IMO. My problem with Verizon is I had the same phone number for over 15 years with Sprint and NEVER got a spam caller. But as soon (like the next day!!!! - no kidding!) I bought a new phone and switched my number over to Verizon, I started getting spam calls and now I get several a week. So it is clear to me Verizon sold my number or failed to protect my number. Either way - not cool!

Yeah it sucks when WE the user are thrown to Accepting these phones and to realize they have all this software that WE can't remove but disable.

Not just that but these carriers are real privacy violators. They track where are standing (to within a few yards - to include the aisle of the store we are standing in), where we've been, and the direction we are heading and how fast we are moving. They know who we've talked to and texted. And they already know our billing address and credit card info.

And people are whining about Windows 10? Give me a break!

the same with the 8200 over the 6000.. the difference isnt what it should be..

maybe your 4500 is worn out..

To get the most life out of it, you dont run the battery down to zero and you dont charge up to 100% capacity. Since we have no idea what the cutoff voltages are it is very possible for even identical batteries to have different usable capacities. Also a smaller battery will have a higher discharge rate compared to a larger one. You get less capacity out of a battery at higher discharge rates.

the custom rom i use for my note 4 has an alternative kernel designed for extra capacity zero lemon batteries.

See right there is what I need but Verizon has things locked down. Well from the % stand point it really depends on what your doing. Like gaming I'd say maybe 6HRs or more depending on the game. Now for YouTube I'd at least say 10 but yeah that's with the 8200 but for each ####mah your HRs will vary

if you put a higher capacity battery in it WILL work, just that your % readings will be wrong. People on the zero lemon could drop to 10% and stay there for a full day, for example.

i guess your battery is ok but your phone limiting the number so it wont show more than 3000
