How does that make any kind of sense? What's the point of DX12 then if it LOWERS framerate? Lets all go back to DX10 then, because it lowers it even more! Because progress! o_O
I forgot to mention that dx12 on that engine is still in development stage, so on the long run it will probably be better. Also pcgh did some tests and found out that amd cpus profit a lot more from dx12 making it almost as good as dx11 if not cpu capped even at this early stage. With cpu cap dx12 was a lot better.

DX12 works quite well.
What does not work perfectly is the render resolution when you slide it from 50% to 100%... brings system to its knees

I get horrible input delay on DX12 like I have v-sync enabled but I clearly don't as the FPS is above my refresh rate.

Anyone else get that?

I set it straight to DX12 and game looks good. Not getting input lag that I know of/notice.

I'm wondering if it's just me, but I can't hit squat in this game.. Getting old sucks. Did they make the hit box that small?

I really dig the back turret gun on the bi plane or whatever it's called.

It's hard to aim from distances, not sure of bullet drop or what. I have a hard time spotting enemies that can spot me super easily somehow. But I'm also very used to CS:GO so maybe that has something to do with it, who knows.

I feel the same way, I feel like I am shooting through people with the sniper repeatedly, its hard to judge bullet drop, I assume they would not remove features like that from previous games, especially since there is a range indicator. Game is pretty fun, but I don't think ill be getting til its on sale or something, these constant new battlefield games are just the same thing re-skinned with new maps, exactly as SW:BF was. I am actually having more fun still playing BF: Bad Company 2, although the server list isn't as big as Id like

I find it terrible too, everything is random and there is no actual skill based weaponry, the weapons have massive spread that's completely random and there and no recoil patterns.

K, we get it, you love your Xeon and love showing it off but you keep posting your videos which at this point aren't helping anyone since it's the same rig over and over.

If you have 670 SLI then sure, that would help since SLI is still a hit or miss with DX11/12. Imho you're just posting to show off/get views.

Anyone else experiencing a low memory crash? After 3 or 4 rounds I get a low system memory warning followed by a crash shortly after that.

I am playing on my htpc that has an i7 860 stock clock, 8gb ram, GTX 1060 6gb. Running at 1080p ultra DX11 and I get consistent 70-90fps.
My first assumption was that 8gb was not enough but in task manager with the game running it shows 3gb unused system memory. Also the crash error message seems to imply that it ran out of GPU memory.

Perhaps it's a memory leak.

I had no crash issues in DX12 mode but switched to DX11 because of random hitching issues.

Aside from that I think the game is awesome.

The game starts out eating about 6gb of ram and i couldn't tell you vram since all my sensors are borked. I think a few people said something about massive pf usages.

I personally play this in Directx 12 with the new Gaming Experience Ready drivers and it did boost performance probably 5% so I will leave the TSAA on for eye candy.

But really, I think its pointless to have a GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 and play any game in max settings only 1080p ... The 1070/1080 is catering more towards the end users with 2k-4k+ resolutions. So when people boast about amazing FPS, of course at 1080p you will get amazing experience, but there are cheaper cards out there that can remedy this as well. Anyone who has a 1080p monitor (with the exception of 2560x1080) should upgrade at least to 2k. Downsampling can work, but its pointless on a 1080p 60hz monitor. The new gaming de facto is now 2k and 4k gaming. Also, throw in the 144hz-165hz extras as well.

Spotting has gotten much more precise, i dont know if its a bug or intentional, but i hope it stays. It leaves a good mechanic in the game but reduces spam. Also spots seem to stay up for shorter times.

There is bullet drop And bullet drag. So your shot will also lose velocity over distance. You have to get ysed to it to lead properly.

The medic guns may have been patched. I haven't played much with the class, but when i tried it out yesterday i felt like i could hit and follow up shots better. We know they rebooted the servers and added more weather effects, so im curious if anyone else sees a difference.

I still feel that the assault class is the most effective for this map.

Also also, if you go to battlefield.com and log in and go to your career tab, you can see your beta stats and look at the guns that are locked until you rank that class.

I'm aiming for a possible bump to a new 1070 for the option of playing on surround. Sure i mainly run 1080p but sometimes I'll have 3 games at once. Pretty sure BF1 won't use 100% but it might with FF14 running too.

I don't think 1440p is a plus for competitive playing, it decreases perf too much and not everyone has a 1070+. Also what's more important than resolution is the refreshrate, 100hz+ and 100fps+ is a must. Gamers already had that over 15 years ago, so if you play with 60hz now it's like they had better rigs back then.

I'm quite pleased with bullet accuracy actually, but I'm only sniping, maybe the sniper is nice and other weapons lack a bit.

I can tell you that you could wipe out a team with a sniper with the same amount of bullets it takes a machine gun to get one guy.

I can tell you that you could wipe out a team with a sniper with the same amount of bullets it takes a machine gun to get one guy.

I was kinda dissapointed in it actually, but that's because I'm used with hunting rifles and I'm a pretty good shot irl. Those skills does not translate well to games. (and that 20-30FPS framerate might hinder me a bit)

But overall I kinda liked the mechanics.

I think you would do good with a rifle-like controller where you aim at your monitor to aim in game, like a Wii rifle controller but for BF1!

Well I dipped my toe in for a few minutes just to see how it ran. Ultra@1440 DX12 was getting 70fps so not bad at all. I will give it a decent go when I can wrangle up a few mates and make a squad.
