Case under 40$ shipped (USA) (Finished Results / Pics uploaded!)

Hello all,

Simply, I have gotten some new hardware that is currently just sitting on cardboard on my desk. Its nice stuff and I want to get a case to simply protect it. My previous case was mATX only so that was a no go with the new motherboard being ATX.

There are about 20-40 cases on newegg that are under 40$ shipped. I have talked to a couple people through PMs and making a thread is what would be best.

I am looking for a few simple things from this case, all which are doable in this tight budget.

1. Option for a decent airflow setup, nothing special just keeping things cool. I prefer 2 fans installed already but 1 will work.
2. Some type of holes for cable management, nothing special once again just something to improve airflow.
3. I want GPU length to allow for a possible upgrade in the future from the GTX570, as well as Heatsink height whenever I can switch to aftermarket from stock cooler.

At the moment, the way the case looks or the quality isn't my main concern. I just need it to be under 40$ shipped, protect this hardware, give me an option for decent airflow through adding fans and cable management, and potential GPU/heatsink upgrade.

I have looked through the cases but become a bit overwhelmed and was hoping TPU could help out once again! Thanks everyone!

And as I usually state in my other threads, 40$ shipped or below is firm. Cant do 45$ or 42$. Unfortunately that is my budget.

@cameronh779 - there are over 72,600 members on this forum who have posted over 3.3 million posts. You should not expect others to remember who you are or what your past problems were, or even care. We cannot assume you are even talking about the same computer as many of us have more than one.

If your past problems affect your current problem, then you should summarize and post the current status here.

And unless you state we are talking about the system in your System Specs, we cannot even assume you want to house that motherboard in this new case. What size motherboard is going in this case?

Clearly, you want a wide case. But note good cable management is a feature found on better (read: more expensive) cases. But good cable management does not necessarily mean holes and spaces to hide cables. A modular power supply helps a lot with that. Then simply tying cables back makes a big difference.

$40 with shipping included does limit your options. If willing to go $3 over budget, this Zalman seems to meet your need.

Well thanks, but half of your post was irrelavant. I put that some may know my situation as far as my finances go. Regardless, I clearly stated my old case was Matx and the current motherboard would not fit. Then I also put that I wasnt willing to go over budget. But I'm sure you will have some explanantion but simply,

I feel like you read more of what you could comment on rather than what you could help with. So before trying to find something to nitpick about something small I said, try reading the entire post which was more than enough to get an answer and some help.

Thanks to both of you. I was looking at the Enermax one and the newegg reviews scared me a little bit saying some ATX boards didn't fit

First, I am not sure about the GPU ill link it down below and maybe you would know. And personally, I would rather have something that fits the budget and put 2 fans in it at a later time if necessary.

Well this is just something for me to protect this hardware with. I dont expect to upgrade the case until I have the money to upgrade the hardware which will be a while.

Well maybe you can scan the local Craigslist and grab em. I see Source 210's on my CL from time-to-time with other cases for pretty cheap... might luck out. The issue I see, even with cheap cases is getting them shipped...which is why it is quite a challenge to quote even a decent case in your price range. So if you can avoid shipping, and do a local pick-up..you might snag a nicer case for way less! Might not tho..some folks are awfully proud of their wares.
