Hello to all. I saw that this forum is one of the best around there for PC stuff... So, let me cut to the point.

I played at my PC: GTA V, NBA 2k16 (over 1000h playing h), Fifa 16, Civilization V.... and only game that restarts my PC is Football Manager 2016. It is ultra strange problem. Downloaded that game from Steam, i worote on Sport Interactive forums... no help so far.

Strange thing is, it was also happening in Football Manager 2015, but i menaged to fix it somehow. (Restarts didnt happened when i was playing at Steam Offline mode ?!) But in FM2016 that doesn't help too...

FM is one of my favorite games, and this is really frustrating.
Here are my pc spec:

Intel I5 3470 3.20GHz

Amd Radeon 7850 1Gb

8Gb RAM 1600Mhz

MSI B75MA-E33

Note: PC restarted once when I was watching tv show in BS player and restarted once when i runed first time NBA 2K16, so far over 1000h of playing, restart never happened again during that game. It is really strange cause FM is really not demanding game to play.
Note2: PSU is RaidMax 500AF 500W (I know that 500w is not maybe too much, but why wouldn't it crashed in more demanding games like GTA V when PC using more resources...)
Note3: Restarts happen sometime after 30min of playing, sometime after 2h... No notable pattern...
Note4: Event Viwer log:

-The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
-Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0

What I have tried so far:
It is not overheating, chacked that with SpeedFan! (Attached file)
Reinstaling and full formating Windows (Win8.1 and now using Win10 x64)
Disebling in BIOS C1E support and other ECO stuff
Puting RAM V in BIOS at 1.5V
Stressing PC with Prime95 over 1 and half hour restart, also stressed GPU with some other programm for 30 min, no restarts aswell.

I'm not that bad at PC's, but i'm out of ideas. This thing is driving me nuts for few months... Thanks for helping guys.

If only 1-2 games are causing restarts, I'd say the 1-2 games are faulty, or software components used by them. You need to reinstall the game or check if it can be repaired. Strange problem indeed. Could also be the savegame that's faulty, if you tried that already and kept the savegame, but that's just speculation.

Tried other save games, always the same... One thing that was ultra wired is that, FM15 had no restarts when i runed it on ,,steam offline mode,,. It's driving me crazy, like, which source Football Manager 16 use more then GTA V... Probably nothing.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
That's a God awful cheap board as well...

I'd look at the psu first though...what brand and model?

Edit: lol, raidmax... they are better known to start fires than power your pc. If that isn't your problem, I'd replace it asap regardless.

500W is plenty for that system. Since it's clear you are on a budget, grab a corsair cx500. It's not great, but serviceable and MUCH better than your current Raidmax garbage.

Edit2: that said, make sure you bios is up to date, and your NIC driver as the problem seems to happen when you are online in those games. Also, make sure your chipset driver amd ME are the latest as well. These can be found at your motherboards website.

Buying new PSU is the smallest problem, as you said i will probably buy another one regardless.

What is strange as I said, GTA V runs fine, restart never happened... It's so confusing.

Other wired thing i noticed, when pc is not turned for whole day, when i try to run it, i get BSOD (SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M or other) and when i restart it it runs fine secound time. (Don't know is that crash have something to do with Football manager16). BSOD is showed before login window at Win10.

Well, you have some work to do...

Again, update the BIOS, NIC/Chipset drivers and see if it stops. If not, I would get a new PSU, NOW. If that doesn't take care of it, new motherboard. This is assuming you have tried different drivers and reinstalled the game.

Report back when done!

Ok, updated BIOS, Chipset and Network (LAN) drivers, will test now...

Edit:
Is this ok btw?

Seems fine to me.
Test your games, see if it's still crashing or not.
If so try another PSU of a well known brand.

I know Motherboard sensor readings aren't to be trusted but 8V on the 12V?? Even not being accurate that is not even close...

Let's think a second... the PC wouldn't run on 8V. ;)

voltage? Seems fine I guess... that likely isn't the issue here so I am not concerned with it. Software, as was mentioned above, is notoriously off so............. not worried.

]I must admit I just skimmed through the original post. Have you checked event viewer? Any codes might help and give us some clues.

EDIT: Excuse me, read that you did. I had an issue similar but it would happen randomly in the middle of the night. Maybe you can look at my thread and get some ideas. I replaced the PSU and even HDD considering it was having issues and haven't had any issues since.

https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/psu-failing.224533/

There is a link to my thread. Maybe you may find some answers in there. Considering the problem is very similar.

I'm curious if his temps are fine why clean the fans? Other than its a normal practice. I mean as being relevant to his problem. I'm curious, you may know something I don't. Not correcting you. This question is for my own knowledge.

If you do have another PSU around to test with that would be a great start.

After the amount of time he plays, that tells me it's heating up. There are failsafes in motherboards for that reason to prevent meltdowns/fires. The powersupply is in question too also they get hot and shut off. Keeping fans clean helps maintain airflow performance and maintains life of fan

Cleaning out cpu fan and heatsink of dust helps quite a bit, same with the gpu heatsink and fans

Another thing to do is replace the thermal compound on the cpu and in some cases have direct air passing on vrms. Sometimes replacing thermal compound on gpu helps.

Worst case is the motherboard or cpu or even gpu is shot.

hi,
One possible cause might be that your GPU s vram is going bad. This happened to me (random restarts) and after some time of swapping parts the GPU was the faulty one.The cause is the lack of lead in the solder between the gpu/vram and the board.Your gpu is just old enough Radeon 7850 1Gb - about 4 years old.If I am right then with time you will have more and more restarts.Try using your on board gpu.

I believe I understand what you are saying. Thanks for clarifying for me. Its about the temps of the things that aren't typically monitored.

but he said 30 mins or 2 hours... if stuff was clogged, it should be more consistent...not to mention the obvious, in more stressful games it should do it quicker and it's not doing it at all. ;)

It is still possible, absolutely, but I wouldn't put temps at the top of my list here... :)

I do wish the OP wold post peak gpu temps though!

Maybe taking the heatsink off the GPU and look at the VRAM pads. See what the condition is of those.

I suggest using spare parts if you have any and narrowing the problem down piece by piece.
