You may want to read a review or two.

Pricing for the 6GB model 1060 and RX 480 4GB are, for all intents and purposes, the same if you look and compare at newegg (1060 link, rx 480 link). The 480 is slower outside of the 3/4 Vulkan enabled games... lord only know if Vulkan will catch on (I refer you to Mantle). But if it does, it won't be soon enough to make the 480 'worth it'. Maybe in a couple years when we hopefully see more vulcan games, but that isn't now and isn't a guarantee later. Less power use by a small margin as well... ;)

not everyone lives in the USA or is bound by newegg prices.

That is also a great point. However I can only comment on where I am...and likely where the majority of your readers hail from. His reply was also to someone that uses newegg (regardless if he appears to live in Greece) so................maybe include that guy as well. ;)

It took me 11 days and nights of camping nowinstock to get the Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB as they were selling out in less than an hour.
Apparently, this card is the preferred choice of Ether miners.

Sadly the prices in my country of the rx 480 goes beyond believe, worse its almost impossible to get them.
The aftermarket cooled cards costs around 400 euro thats alot more than the so called $200 price tag its actually $ 450 thats at least double the price they was supposed to be sold at.
Ofcourse i do not want the factory cooled option because its loud and annoying, but the insanity with these monstrous prices made me decide to wait till prices go to more acceptable prices

Actually Nergal i am checking out if buying from germany will be an option, but i fear the postage will be spoiling that as well.
When i checked one of the shops i found transport adds 48 euro excl taxes ( which is 24% )
I will keep that shop in mind though, has alot of products i like.

It is incl 19%.

The postage is a little extra indeed; but if you buy something more expensive, or multiple items; it saves about 10% in the end. (for me it does at least)

They communicate perfectly in english by mail (automatic mails are German)

Rx480 4GB XFX for 226€, thats incl tax; really cheap opposed to what I have available at my home country

I have not heard of a SFF version of the RX 480, but I might check the prices of the R9 Nano as vendors are looking to clear stocks. However if I'm not mistaken, the Elite 110 can mount a 120mm AIO Radiator. Presently, the full R9 Fury is priced even less than the Nano. You can find a full R9 Fury for as low as $350 Factory Refurbished, which is probably what I would do as cooling is of top concern in such a small enclosure, plus it's the stronger of the two cards.

Im an AMD fanboy but i just bought a GTX1060 to replace my 7950 Xfire until Vega comes out. I havent had a NVidia Card since my 8800 GTS before that was my TNT2 . I just wanted to see the green side a little and the price was right on the 1060 i got.

Paxwell boasts higher boost clocks, but the wild fluctuations often cause sudden drops in frames under load. For me this can be a fail cascade at certain moments when accuracy is dependent upon steady frames.

Grow up Ungari...

(You keep posting that immature trolling, 'paxwell', I'll keep telling you to grow up).

All you need to do if that is paramount and is actually happening is to raise the power and temp limits (main factors of how high cards will boost). That said, I never do this, fps are not all over the place. The cards I reviewed amd use, like most others, finds a nice happy place to settle down and is rock solid stable for me. It will drop a bin or so until temps settle, sure. But assuming you don't have thermal runaway, you shouldn't see the bins going up or down. If you have an evga card and this mystery symptom happens, use Kboost. ;)

Okay thanks. Anyway so my 2nd evga mini 1060 is on the way, heh.

Too bad that you can't run them in SLI,....................(just sayin')
This lack of SLI capability is incredibly stupid to me. Why did they hobble the GTX-1060 cards so?
If they were SLI capable, they would be my choice between the two models, hands down.

If they allowed 1060s to SLI, it would decrease sales of $700 1080s, see?
This is why I plan to purchase a second RX 480 for Crossfire, as it seems we can both do the math, eh?

I'm wondering if we are seeing a trend away from SLI and Crossfire in gaming. I've seen explanations for this. One is that some developers don't want to put the time in for SLI/Crossfire support because fewer people are running SLI/Crossfire than in the past and the other reason I've seen is that modern GPUs have gotten so fast that SLI/Crossfire isn't really necessary except for high end enthusiasts which are few compared to the average gamer.

Maybe just a lot of talk but it could be true. There do seem to be quite a few games coming out that don't support SLI/Crossfire.

No, it's true.
Developers are lazy and greedy, barely even finishing a game at it's release. Also they aim for the lowest common denominator for performance thanks to the console market.
On the other hand, while Nvidia has decreased their support for SLI, AMD has been aggressive in supporting it as it gives great value to the low to mid tier customer, and a chance to sell another chip.

SLI and Crossfire are a must have for me. (my choice to do)
I don't have any issues with either when my cards are functioning properly.
I use quality power supplies and have good airflow in my cases too.

It keeps everything SCMOOOOTH!

This choise is pretty easy. I dont like AMD. GTX 1060 have no sli support and one card is not faster than my Current gtx 970 sli setup and sli support is a must have for me. So none of These cards. I am not gonna upgrade this round.

Besides if i want a good enoufh upgrade over gtx 970 sli. Gtx 1070 sli is the only choise, but my old cpu would just hold these card back. So no upgrade for me this time.
