Dell Vostro 430 RADEON R9 270 Power Colour

hi i just bought a cheap computer and trying to upgrade it to play gta 5 and a few other games which are a bit demanding on an old pc.
started with i5 750 4gb ram 350w psu and nvidia 210

i5 750 and 12gb ddr3 with radeon r9 270 power colour. 500w areo cool psu what would you expect frame rate to be on 1080 tv.
might possibly put in the i7880 highest compatible processor. ram is only 1333mhz not sure if it will run 1600mhz but on a very low buget

if you were to compare it to the ps4 graphically would it be better or worse.
also if i were to sell the system any idea what it would be worth. ive spent a little under £200 for computer and upgrades still yet 2 put it together as the gpu hasn't arrived yet

With how old it is you might barely scratch 250 from it.

Best way to compare to a PS4 is to conpare your 270 to a HD7770.

also will i5 750 bottle neck the gpu.
this is my first build last time i had a pc was around 12 years ago. tried doing some research into it but i don't understand a lot of it.

i was just wondering price wise if i had got a good deal out of what i bought

is that the amd radeon hd 7770? looking online the r9 270 just scrapes it

Ps4 has a gpu with 1152 cores, it's a 7870 with deactivated shaders and some new features from future Gpus.

7770 is more like the gpu of xbone.

I think your pc will be the same or worse compared to a ps4, don't forget that consoles are very good optimised compared to PCs.

Still you have the better controls in gta5 on pc - you can use mouse/keyboard for shooting and controller for driving and walking around - I do that and enjoy the flexibility very much.

R9 270 is a rebranded 7850 with higher clocks can't beat a 7870/270X. What you get is a 1024 shader gpu gcn first gen - so you know what you have.

I think the i5 will be okay but I would overclock it as far as possible nonetheless - GTA 5 needs all it can get.

i am a noob at this stuff no idea how to over clock it. anyone know if it will run 1600 ram. know ud av to change bios settings but not sure if it goes up to 1600.
is there a massive difference between the 270 and the 270x

also can't you oc the 270 higher than the 270x anyway. dono how just reading reviews on it

They overclock all the same. If you want to know how to overclock google it - it's more than just a few sentences that you must know about it.

Some basics:

That cpu can be overclocked via bclk in the bios (bus speed increase). There's a fixed Multiplikator of the cpu that is multiplied via the bus that's at 100mhz and you can increase that bus. Example 32x100 = 3200 mhz. After overclock it would be 32x110 = 3520mhz. That would be a mild overclock.

Gpu can be overclocked via tools like afterburner. Gpu is way easier because you can do it in windows and directly see results.

I'm not sure on the ram but it's never bad to buy better ram. More overclocking headroom, better timings.

yeah i can only go up to 16gb and 1333mhz but i have read it might be possible to get 1600mhz to work. will av to look into oc the i5. its only 2.66 quad but will boost to 3.2 dono how much you can oc it. cheers for help when i get all the bits and put it 2gether will try it out

I think cpu can be clocked to at least 3.8ghz. Those cpus were always great overclockers.

7850 ran GTA V for me. Wasn't the fastest but 1080P medium was doable. Processor was a 2500K with 8GB ram.

I'd get the i5 750. Or is that what you have now? Can you raise its speed, it is only a 2.6 GHz, if you can get it to 3.5 it would be sufficient.

yeah ive got the i5 750 boosts to 3.2 ghz but will try oc it to 3.8 ghz. just downloaded afterburner but im waiting for my psu and gpu sometime next week. might put in the i7 880 if i can get 1 cheap. flash the bios to 2.4.0 just want it to run roughly the same graphics and speed as ps4 and id be happy.

well i only just joined this site i havnt had a computer in about 10 years or more. he could of just said try not to post more than twice in your own thread as for some reason people dont like it. i geus because it puts the post at the top of the forum thing and people get jelous their not at the top
