AMD today released the WHQL-signed variants of the Radeon Software Crimson Edition version 16.10.1 drivers, which it released earlier this month. Besides optimization for "Gears of War 4" and "Mafia III," and CrossFire profiles for "Shadow Warrior 2," these drivers come with support for the Oculus Asynchronous Spacewarp feature on graphics cards based on the "Polaris 10" silicon (Radeon RX 480, RX 470). Grab the drivers from the links below.

AMD defines Asynchronous Spacewarp as the following.
ASW compares previously rendered frames, detects the motion between them, and extrapolates the position of scene components to create a new synthetic frame. Using this technology, synthetic frames will accurately approximate the fully-rendered frames they're designed to replace.

Sounds like the "motion estimation and motion compensation" some TVs use to produce 120/240Hz frame rates from 60Hz content.

The TV shit results in blurry crap. Games have plenty of blur on their own, guess it'll be less noticeable.

TVs do less complex stuff more akin to motion blur algorithm, this is closer to visual effect from the music video for Rolling Stones cover of Bob Dylan's song "Like a Rolling Stone":
In the music video 2 fps slide show is made into 24 fps video by calculating 11 synthetic frames for each original frame. Some sequences are generated with all cameras positioned on a curve firing at once, same thing Matrix movie did years later ... and the same interpolation algorithm is used

You think this " Asynchronous Spacewarp" feature, will improve the VR experience dramatically for mid range cards' owners?

^from what vie read somewhere, minimum requirements for VR has gone a step down from usual RX 480 to ~RX 460 ish it seems because of asynchronous spacewarp.

Stutter, probably no.
Lag, maybe by about 24ms.
Hence, unless you're playing a competitive shooter or a fighting game, it hardly matters.

motion interpolation it is. The EIZO with fake 240Hz monitor also uses this

Strange but yeah with my 7950 it shows 16.9.2 and shows no new updates.

Edit: Many are reporting the same problem.

Shows as 16.9.2 on my 290X.
No evidence of Asynchronous Spacewarp feature, but then again it's supposed to be only available on graphics cards based on "Polaris 10".
