What is the max core clock of the i7 6700 on all 4 cores?

I am not looking for the i7 6700k speed, I am looking for the i7 6700 top clock speed on 4 cores.

I want to say 4.0ghz but I am not sure of it.

It turbos up to 4.0, Base frequency is 3.4Ghz.

I often leave out that all important "not" when typing. This time my brain just did not see it when reading.

I did not forget my coffee - it is on a timer so ready when I wake up! I was just still on my first mug and not yet up to speed.

Also keep in mind if you have the setting on your board, you can use the max single core turbo clock and apply it to all for cores at the same time. This does increase power consumption and heat ouptut obviously, but is a nice little "free" boost with by changing a single setting to enabled.

In that case it would be 4C @ 4.0GHz instead of 4C @ 3.7GHz.

and i strictly just have coffee at work.. at the office, not in my home, not when im free,

This processor is going into laptop so I dont know if its possible to change it. Wont know until I get it and mess with it.

When I used to "go to" work and there was always a fresh pot available, I drank a lot more - probably at least a pot myself - throughout the morning. Never cared much for it after lunch, though a cup after pigging out at a nice dinner was nice.

I am looking to replace a business laptop, 13.3 incher and a gaming laptop, 17 incher. I am going for a EUROCOM Tornado F5 with a LGA socket desktop processor. Most laptops today come with a BGA processor. If the motherboard gives out you will have to change the entire motherboard with it. I just found this laptop model in the perfect size. Best part it also comes a Nividia 1070 and falls within my budget. I wont order it with a OS or any HDs, I already have those at home.
I've been 100% laptop fanboy for about 9 years and going.

1151 sockets, not sure. But replaceable CPUs in notebooks are becoming a thing of the past as the big push in notebooks these days is to get as thin as piece of paper, it would seem. And that leaves no room for a socket. And that, IMO, is just another example of why notebooks don't make good gaming, or "desktop replacement" computers.

Some high end clevo/sager ones do. Nividia has been putting desktop GPU into laptop for a while now. Both Intel and Nvidia have been pretty good at being power efficient.

Yeah I have seen some on the internet a few years ago, didn't know it was still a thing in 2016/17 having a i7 desktop CPU (even K) in a laptop....
I'm sure you can almost fry an egg on these laptops if you stress the hardware long enough..

It's only for top tier models. I haven't personally had one; they just cost too much for my wallet. I have seen one though. It's very thick. It's thicker than top tier laptop with beefy mobile CPU. I can see how a blower type cooler can go in there. The height is about 1U, so coolng 90w TDP chip is possible.

Obviously, it isn't exactly a laptop. It's more like a super portable 10kg heavy weight PC.

Certain companies like Clevo has a good line of laptops with desktop processors but they usually cost more. Both my current laptops are Clevos.

My current gaming laptop weight 4.5kg, the charger is at 1.3kg for a 330w psu. But I can move it from the desktop to the bed while laying flat down.

No thanks! If need that kind of mobility, I'll stick with my "full sized"

wireless keyboard and mouse with the HTPC and big screen TV I have in my home theater setup to move from my Lazy Boy recliner to the sofa!

If you were a "road warrior" who regularly travels, lugging around 5.8Kg (12.8lbs) of computer (not counting the carrying case) would get real old real quick.
