Since you went down to directly connecting to your modem, you could try picking up a cheap network card to see if it is your onboard network.

It could be a location based problem with a node or something as well. You could try running a traceroute (to google for example) Windows search>type: cmd>type: tracert www.google.com and see if any of the hops are giving you trouble.

Okay I'll try to explain this the best way possible. I've been having this issue for the past year where my ping has been 20ping higher than usual and will spike another 20ping even higher and will result in, in game lag in any game I play on xbox, my gaming pc and I notice it even on my phone from time to time.

This issue is isn't just on one game but every single game. So for example I use to play league of legends and I'd get a static 19-21 ping with no spikes even when people streamed netflix etc. Now I have a ping that ranges from 35-45 and it will jump to 60 every 8 seconds and the game will become choppy. This applies to every other game including overwatch.

Ive made sure theres no splitters in the house, I've done direct connections to the modem and this still happens. I've noticed it becomes worse when I'm connected to the router and the second I open a video the ping jumps but this never use to happen and my download speed and upload speed is near flawless when I do this.

So I dont know if anyone has any idea what could be the issue. I have a tech coming in this week and hopefully it gets fixed but who knows.

I've had issues with consistency in my previous home. It turned out that it was actually a problem in two places one was the wiring on the streets telephone pole outside my house, the other was feedback from a device at a neighbors house. My problem would always happen at around exact same time every day, after about 2 1/2 years of process of elimination both the cable company and myself figured the above two causes out. You should be able to call your ISP and report the problem however it will likely take more than one or two attempts because they need to see a recurring problem but it's serves you best to have it registered or logged in their record

One way I was able to rule out the devices in my home was to use my wife's android phone as a hotspot we could see that the bandwith issue I was having would not occur when connected through her mobile Internet, and thus prove it was indeed the ISP who had the problem

Can you look in your modem, at the logs and line quality?

could be something on the network spiking out traffic.

maybe implement bandwidth shaping of some kind (even budget TP link routers support per IP bandwidth limits) and rule out a device briefly spamming the upload? I've seen tons of people with lagging internet realise it was phones/tablets auto syncing and uploading photos/videos to the cloud when the devices were charging, and they were totally oblivious because no one was 'using' them at the time.

1st. grab a copy of mtr
then use it to run a continuous trace to some game server.
it'll point out where the slow link is.
if its slow to the 1st hop then the problem is in your house. if its slow to the second hop that's generally line quality
then there are other hops inside your isp that might be slow.
and once it transits from your provider a bunch more hops. depending on where its slow you will need to contact the isp ( your isp may or may not forward the request for you) that owns the slow gear.

Doesn't Teksavvy lease lines from Bell?

And Bell has been having huge network issues with some area in GTA not having TV/DSL at all for days.

there are 2 things troubling with that. 1st is the 155ms spike to your 2nd hop. that's the connection from your router to the isp. i'd have them run a line quality check. a longer trace may prove useful.

second issue is the massive difference between hops 6 and 7. unless you're going across a long distance there shouldn't really be that large of a difference between hops. by long distance I mean a 1000 miles or so. or that handoff to blizzard is slow

I use below sites to get a general idea of what the fu- is going on when I am having issues.

Nowadays, reps over the phone either don't really know what's going on or won't tell you real issues. Having typed that, Bell firmly refused to admit any kind of issues last week when my business DSL went down for 14 hours on 16th. I found out Bell was having a massive blackout in network connections in GTA and about due to a software upgrade failure at some hubs.
