I have been running my i5-3570k at 4.6 ghz 1.25v (1.248 vcore reading) since 2 months ago. Never had any BSOD or crash due to the oc, was at 4.4 ghz 1.18v 24/7 before. I would like to know if this is safe for long term use at least until cannon lake release?

So how high is too high? What's your 24/7 vcore?
I dont know if this applies to 3570k, but its not recommended to go over 1.3V on 4670k

I wouldn't go over 1.35V for 24/7 use, unless you have some extreme cooling solution. 1.25V is perfectly fine if you keep it cool.

agreed. cooling will affect so much some overclock settings...

tell moar about cooling? thermal paste and sh*t, maybe we could improve your OC experience and results!

Good voltage too. Nice chip. IMO, as long as under 1.3V and 75*C in games and applications you are okay for 24/7, a lot of people have been running these at or higher than this since 2012.

Id say as far as 1.4v can be okay if you keep it under 80c, dont quote me on this though. But to be fair i had an i7 4820k (ivy bridge) clocked to 4.8 1.35v for well over a year, and it was fine.

Have my 2600k running at 1.3v for over 5 years now. For ivy 1.3v should still be safe, if temps stay decent ofcourse.
And this is with offfset value so voltages keep low when doing simple tasks.

1.25 is perfectly fine. Even for 24/7 voltage.

an advantage is that you could delid that i5 and get better temps, which might allow a little bit moar power!

You lucky bastard. 4.6 on 1.25v

Keep it there, it's a tremendous OC. 4.4 on below 1.2v is also very, very good for Ivy i5. The Ivy i7's tend to leak a LOT less though, and below 1.2 for that clock is much more common on them.

For giggles and some reference (my 3570k)... I run 4.2 Ghz at 1.21v. If I want to get 4.3 Ghz I already need 1.24 and 4.4 Ghz needs 1.26-1.28 which is also when I run into temps above 72 C which I want to avoid. My cooling is simple: Gelid Tranquillo Rev 2 - 25 bucks. Never goes above 66-70 C at full load. That's probably also the 'safe' OC ceiling you should be aiming for, perhaps up to 74-76 C when torture testing in IBT or Prime95. Beyond 70 C current leakage increases and this destroys OC stability. Regardless of that, you can push up to 85 C no trouble on this CPU and still not have it throttle. For longevity, keep CPU max temp below 80 C. Tjmax may be 105 C but if you ever get there, you've got trouble.

Rule of thumb, don't go above 1.3v/80 C on Ivy on AIR. Don't go above 1.35v/70 C on Ivy under water. Also, delidding this CPU will dramatically improve temperatures, but is risky business.

Have fun OC'ing :) You've got a great chip there.

Ivy 's i7 are great for OC, there were a tremendous "Golden" batch of i7's all arround the globe,

1.25 is anaemic... worry when you hit near the 1.4v mark.

I'm running at 1.575v daily :)
AMD FX-8350 (800mhz overclock at 4.8ghz)

Due to energy saving features turned on; core is only at 1.4ghz 1.2v (unless under load).

As soon as loads = >50% on 2 cores (roughly) all cores automatically clock back up to 4.8ghz 1.575v

I can search web, watch videos, read emails etc etc without full strain :)
