I couldn't not realize how after some 15 minutes of up time a process called "Installshield update scheduler" suddenly comes up eating at least 50%of CPU and doesn't disappear until i kill it. This happens every single other time and been happening for like 6 months now. I posted the problem on some local forums and got no answers, then i thought i'd kill the process every time, not big deal, but i am fed up of it already.

Also, there is this link popping up every single time my internet goes down ( usually problems which go away after restarting the router ).
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=219472&clcid=0x409
- This might be a router problem. This is the router : http://www.tendacn.com/en/product/F300.html

I want to mention that i couldn't find a more suitable category for this thread.

EDIT : Oh now i see the title and cant edit it anymore, excuse me. It's actually the "suspicious" word that should be in quotes

What have you done to resolve the issue? Please be detailed and clear.

I would recommend downloading and running Malwarebytes 2.0 Free and whatever else you run for anti virus to make sure your system is clean.

Can you go into Task Manager and verify if this is a created task?

What is the service that is using 50% processor utilization called/named? The actual service/process name can be found in Task Manager.

I don't feel you have a router issue...but let's resolve the "update scheduler" issue first and go from there..you might have two or more issues here...they all might be linked. Need more information and hopefully we can get that by working with you. :)

personally, i would answer the questions above in Kursah' post, then open taskmanager/start-up and find out what the hell is launching when you start the PC, the cause could be in there, a lot of the times those webite redirect bitches latch on to start-up, and screw you from there.

There is a photo of the startup applications. I am restarting my pc now and expecting the process to show up.

Meanwhile, the windows i am using is windows 10 PRO, and have proceeded within very first minute of usage with doing whatever i found on internet to stop it from automatically updating.

After some time i wake up to some xbox thing popping up suddenly when i start the pc then the same day i opened cs go and got a warning regarding some xbox DVR thing that may negatively impact performance and that i should disable it. I eventually did and after that i started questioning windows 10's ability to go behind your back and install updates anyway. I eventually looked up more things that i can do to stop it from installing updates and i think it does not anymore, but god knows, the microsoft's ability to intrude users' privacy never ceases to amaze me.

Excuse me if the xbox thing has nothing to do with windows updates but i can't link it to any other thing. For what it's worth mentioning, the "Windows" folder has 16GBs.

Oh please t/c this. I cant believe all this time i couldnt right click and check that properties thing. The process was related to some software i used to install my drivers, called driver magician. Uninstalled it.

The problems we cant seem to solve tend to have the simplest answers, glad you got it fixed

Stick around, theres a lot to do on tpu and mostly good community

On the upside, wouldn't hurt to run a battery of malware software to clean everything off. I lost a couple hours researching threat engines and such recently. Conclusion; no one program, free or paid, is going to find everything. No one program is going to find everything it is capable of finding without running multiple times with multiple versions with reboots in between.

Malwarebytes, Hitman Pro, and the Emsisoft Emergency Toolkit all offer free versions/trials that comprise the best you are likely find for supplementing a good anti-virus and firewalls on computer+router

I'll grab one of these. Supposed the problem would go away after i uninstall that software. Today, some game was stuttering and i was surprised to see that thing eating resources again. Frustrating for real.

I ran a test using malwarebytes, it found and removed 7 threats but none related to "driver magician" as i could see. Anyway, waiting to see if that process shows up again.

By the way, is there any firewall similar to sygate personal firewall i used to use ( guess does not support win 10.)

It is not gone. I went to Properties -> Security, seems like it had "full control". I Clicked on disable inheritance, not sure what it did, maybe you'll help me a little :D.

"Driver Magician" is nothing related to Samsung Magician. It is a "Driver update tool" but it's website looks amateurisch AND anyway having all your drivers constantly checked is a BAD IDEA.
Uninstall it, I'd say!

Every year sites like amazon , or neweegg, will have sales on security programs, i recommend you keep a look out.

They are usually 3 pc keys for 1 year, and they sell for 15- 20 bucks.
I have multiple pc's so i pick them up each year.

Ive always known its never totally safe, but between smart browsing habits, and regular scan, and most importantly backups your pretty good.

Sorry if this is ignorant/not recommended, but did you try to right click the process and open the directory it is located in, and then deleting it?

I guess it's gone now, didn't see it anymore. The source is some folder called AppData which i believe it's hidden ? Either way as i said, i believe it's gone.
