Why is your dream build a rendering farm server? I don't want to poke holes in your dream build but there is a lot here that doesn't make sense. The board you picked will only support CPUs up to 18 cores, but you have a 22-core Xeon. You have a bunch of TVs for monitors which is going to suck at gaming related things like refresh rate (since most of them lie or just tricks to get beyond 60 Hz) and will have high response times in 15 ms+ range. There is no sound card for your home theater system which is bad consider that boards on-board audio will be basic bare minimum garbage. Nvidia doesn't support 4-way SLI so good luck finding a game that does and that is enough power to be well beyond the negative gain point.

I can only assume this is to be some kind of super computer for the whole home that you are going to unRAID with several virtual machines so it will be a HTPC, 2 gaming systems, NAS, etc.

These threads are a waste of time and as you can see nobody is interested in fantasy builds. Post in G.N. if you want to dream.

Let's say that by some miracle you manage to have that dream build, would you have enough money to pay the power bill afterwards...

It's just a pipe dream, really get something more realistic.

Also he'll be sad when he notices those CPUs really, truly suck for gaming. 2.2Ghz.

Me I'd like two extra threads, or even cores. Maybe a faster GPU, but I'm not much of a gamer anymore so I don't really need it.

This is one of those builds where a person picks out the most expensive parts because more expensive=more better.

Quad Titan X? That's just pissing money away.

My dream build is compact, liquid cooled, and I didn't have to build it....

1080in sli, 5+ Ghz cpu, and 16 GB of low latency ram... also a 144hz gsync of some sort at 4k.

Ive gone back to 1080P for games after using the 4 k screen for a bit (even set to 1440p on 17"
and it made my eyes bleed

My dream build is my current rig. I researched for it, planned for it, and executed it by using second hand parts when necessary. Yours isn't a dream build. It's just picking the most expensive parts and throwing in together. My total cost for my rig was about 1200 CAD and it was within my planned budget.

14 core CPU with 16gb ram and 1060 6gb vram. I can render two scenes at once and both will finish their workload in an hour, give or take 15 minutes.
