In January 2016 Club 3D brought a solution to the market as an upgrade since GPU solutions were not bundled with HDMI 2.0 connectors. Users needed to spend a lot of money for the latest graphics card, Notebook, Ultrabook or MiniPC, that were equipped with up to date technology HDMI 2.0 output for 4K@ 60Hz.

With the introduction of the CAC-1070 (DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 Adapter) and CAC-1170 (MiniDP to HDMI 2.0 Adapter) Club 3D has been the first company in the market to fulfil this demand. These 2 products have become our star products for 2016. Now it is time to develop things further and introduce the next products for this demand.

Club 3D is proud to announce the first DP 1.2 Cable to HDMI 2.0 4K60Hz UHD Active Adapter (CAC-1073) and MiniDP 1.2 Cable to HDMI 2.0 4K60Hz UHD Active Adapter (CAC-1173). Users can now convert the signal over a longer distance with a cable length of 3 meters/9 feet. Both products will be available in Club 3D's warehouse by end of November . So you can get them shipped worldwide from your favourite distributor or shop no later than beginning of December. Preorders can be placed as off today.

DisplayPort 1.2 Cable to HDMI 2.0 Active Adapter
The Club 3D CAC-1073 is an active HDMI signal converter. The DisplayPort 1.2 Cable to HDMI 2.0 Active Adapter is the easiest solution for connecting your DisplayPort 1.2 enabled Game PC or Laptop to an HDMI 2.0 enabled 4K UHD Television, monitor or projector. The adapter is fully compliant to HDMI 2.0 specification allowing for 6Gbps TMDS throughput per channel. The interface in the adapter has three lanes for HDMI data, clock, HPD signal and power, offering a total TDMS throughput of 18 Gbps. Supports up to 4K UHD Resolution at 60Hz.

Mini DisplayPort 1.2 Cable to HDMI 2.0 Active Adapter
The Club 3D CAC-1173 is an active HDMI signal converter. The Mini DisplayPort 1.2 Cable to HDMI 2.0 Active Adapter is the easiest solution for connecting your Mini DisplayPort 1.2 enabled Game PC or Laptop to an HDMI 2.0 enabled 4K UHD Television, monitor or projector. The adapter is fully compliant to HDMI 2.0 specification allowing for 6 Gbps TMDS throughput per channel. The interface in the adapter has three lanes for HDMI data, clock, HPD signal and power, offering a total TDMS throughput of 18 Gbps. Supports up to 4K UHD Resolution at 60Hz.

Nice, guess they are powered by the display port itself (pin 20 is 3,3V 500 mA, pin 19 return)

Is there any info about HDMI audio here? since the audio stream is mixed into the picture data over HDMI i assume one would need some trickery in the drivers for it to work, or is this already implemented?

DisplayPort caries audio...
yes, but is not the same way that HDMI caries audio (DVI/HDMI uses serial links while DP is packet based) as the data stream for audio and sound in DP is separate wile the stream in HDMI is combined at the GPU into the screen signal.

Its possible the converter is capable of this but its a valid question to ask, as there is a lot of people with older GPUs that has DP 1.2 that they might want to connect to a 4K TV

That is good then, would maybe have mentioned it in the press release.

This does mean that there will be many decent GPUs ready for duty in a HTPC now.
