The extra molex is for added power SLI and Crossfire, pretty common

This may sound silly so some. Take out the onboard battery and clean the connection surfaces on the battery and mobo.

i took out the molex power plug too the pcie slots that made a big difference it fired right up that was what was causing the hole problem thank you all for all the help

It's very strange that disconnecting that extra power connector would be the cause of your problem... but I'm glad you got it sorted!

I have one of these in the shop we use for troubleshooting outside the case but I have never seen a motherboard (or computer) come with a switch.

I believe many asrock and asus boards have them now. My board has them.

Ive gotten in the habit of doing a bench boot to verify any doa parts.

The extra molex is for sli/crossfire. It would be interesting if this were happening with a Seasonic psu on that board. .

what it could have been was i had my corsair h80 water cooler hooked to the same molex line when i disconnected the line i took it completely out and i hooked the h80 to a different line

It must be a brand thing. I use almost exclusively Gigabyte boards and none of those, at least up to now, have it. Hopefully Gigabyte and all the others will follow suit. But don't know what you mean by "have to run without a case if they were without". For years we all just used a flat tip screwdrivers which still works just fine - or one of those button switches I linked to above. No big deal.

I guess we can thank the continuous miniaturization of components, As motherboard dimensions remain the same, motherboard makers are able to squeeze more and more features in the same real estate.

X-58 UD5 and UD7 had a start button. I had at one point both my UD5s without a case, just resting on some well placed wood. It is much easier to use a start button then to short the pins.

Well, of course. But again, shorting the pins was the only option used for many years - and it still works. But of course, sticking a highly conductive, hardened steel screwdriver with sharp edges into the heart of a motherboard comes with its own risks - especially with aging eyesight, poor lighting, and not-so steady hands. That's why I keep one of these on my bench - even though I have good lighting there - and one in my tool bag for use on house calls where lighting may not be so good.
