I was making space on my ssd game drive last night. I uninstalled blood dragon (uplay), and reinstalled it onto another drive. While installing, kaspersky detected a trojan virus. It was removed

But is this a normal thing?? How can a game from Uplay have a virus attached to it??? The first time I installed the game, nothing popped up.

I think the file is deleted? I will try to find it.

Thanks for the link. I was searching around google, and was getting mixed answers. I will bookmark that link into my games folder

Most virus scanners will quarantine a file before deleting it. You should still be able to find it.

its a .bat file, you should be able to read the contents and figure out what it does. it probably launches the game with command line parameters.

That's right; Its a False Positive. When I installed Far Cry, I didin't face your problem. But a friend shared his problem which was like yours. Sometimes few antivirus softwares show some false positive results which are not harmful.

Ever since I moved from free antivirus to Windows Defender (Microsoft Security Essentials/ Win 10) I've not seen a single false positive anymore.

Not even with pirated games.

Kaspersky PDM is a proactive module based on behavior. It is possible that it has triggered a false positive detection. Report it to Kaspersky so they fix it. Kaspersky also has quarantine, you can restore the file form there. You should re-check it on VirusTotal/Jotti before excluding it in Kaspersky though.

Shock :) Horror:)
to say

You should spank yourself with a wet Kipper :)

Oh well, with an annual spending of over 800 EUR on games I think I'm doing my fair share of support, especially because over half of that goes to indie devs.. That still doesn't change the fact that some games are almost impossible to find, or are still released in such a sorry state that I want to try them first - that goes especially for Early Access stuff.

I wish devs would've never done away with the idea of "demos," so I can relate somewhat. Not agreeing with your behavior, but relating to your pain.
