At 1080p, there really isn't much of a difference between DVI and DisplayPort but, for the sake of thinking that DisplayPort is the way of the future, I would opt for that if everything else is equivalent outside what you specified.

If DisplayPort versus HDMI is the only concern, I would find the one with the best reviews and go with it. It's not really worth worrying about the kind of connection for the display at 1080. I have a 4k display at work which is a very different dynamic and something like DisplayPort gets me a lot more than what my laptop with HDMI 1.4 gets me but, these are things you don't really need to worry about at 1080p.

Having established the pertinent factor here is not DP I would favor instead a 24" monitor with 1920x1200. This ratio is in fact preferable and easier to use seeing as web and program formatting displays best on it. Those 120 scan lines make a larger difference than proportional gain would suggest.

Again, without specific make and model for comparison sake you will never receive informed buying advice.

Might want to re-read the thread. Both displays are 1080p (16:9.)

Neither. As I understand it, ADS and IPS are very similar.

As far as I'm aware ADS is just a marketing buzzword added to IPS to make it sound fancy. It probably has marginally better contrast and that's it. IPS is IPS.

OP, Model numbers would be helpful instead of copy/pasting info from their website :)

You are asking which is better, but without knowing models specifically we can't be of much help others then general tips/observations.

I myself have had a 22" lg ips and a 24" samsung PLS (IPS competition from Samsung) and I prefer the larger screen size.

Which fact was quite prominently relayed in the "I would favor instead" portion of my reply. As well as the justification that followed for 16:10.

Might want to comprehend what you've just read before risking an opinion on it.

Preference doesn't matter when both displays the OP is looking at are 1920x1080. I respect your preference but, it doesn't help the OP make a choice since 16:10 isn't an option given the choices. That's my point.
