I don't think it's an overture to Taiwan as much as a complete lack of understanding of past US policy.

I'm not saying they don't deserve recognition, just that Trump likely doesn't have the slightest clue that there's even a debate over Taiwan and a policy in the US regarding contact. It wouldn't even surprise me.

Right on China, Taiwan, Philippines and few other Asian tech manufacturers have put more consumer electronics in our households then Coca Cola has brought Drinks. While keep the prices in check.

Most of those products utilize US and European intellectual property. All those cheap USB adapters? Intel. All those cheap Android TV products? ARM. All those cheap cables? Conform to standards established elsewhere. Because China can't be classified as a developing nation anymore, they quit pegging their currency to the US dollar, and diesel will never fall to $1/gallon again, outsourcing manufacturing to China is coming to a screeching halt.

You have a situation where in the South China Sea, the CHICOMS are dumping landfill and junk onto reefs so they call them islands which they can plant a flag on.
Then they claim the area around it is sovereign waters and so are claiming the entire region belongs to them.
But, if you want to know the dirty little secret; the US has always funded and transferred technology to the Communists.
Many elites have praised the government there, calling it a model society that the US should emulate.
Donald Trump had a sitdown with Henry Kissinger and was vetted by him, which means the US will do nothing but help CHICOM.

Keeping in mind the fact that Donald Trump is a businessman and a Republican (and traditionally is more focused on business)... My guess is, that his election would mean larger General growth through the economy and decreased prices across all consumer goods... Including computer parts.( due to tax cuts) If prices don't fall ....I could see a different scenario because of the aforementioned points I just made... instead of prices falling I could see pay Rising (because if buisnesses being able to keep more profits because of tax cuts) which again would have the ability similar effect... Making computer components more affordable because we make more money.

That's debatable as to when his views have swerved right, but he's still not a Republican per se he's more a populist pragmatist businessmen which he's always been to some degree, but being in freaking New York if he wasn't a Democrat or at least got along with them he'd never have gotten very far. Also I think it's very fair to say many of his views changed after 8 years of Obama, that and when at an event few years ago Donald was roasted by Obama about Birther issue and people surmise that lit a fuse under Trump to consider running for prez. Regardless all his appointments and his actions mirror what he campaigned on so I think he is what he is, just because at one point he was somewhat different hardly means he couldn't change or revise his views based on experience. Besides, if he's such a "democrat" then the liberals would love infiltrating the Republicans and getting a "democrat" elected wouldn't they? I don't think so, they are having a cow and melting down...that to me alone is a great sign that he isn't at all in common with the sitting Dem party.

I was just responding to the poster who characterized Trump as a GOP guy.
My own perspective is that while the rhetoric is polar opposite to each other, there are no real policy differences in the voting records between the parties.
In other words, I believe the Two Party System is an illusion of choice.

Look at not what they say in speeches, but at how they actually vote.
They are the same, and have been for many years.
